Yes, you can empty the folder (but don't delete it.)  Those files are the version of the content file that the zune software created to sync on to the device itself (optimized for the device...)The software keeps them to save time.  If you delete them from the PC, it just means the software has to transcode them again if ...

Hi,
I have over 24GB of files in my "C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Zune\Transcoded Files" Cache folder.
What are they and can I safely delete them?
Thanks
Jamie

Hi,
Very often I find myself out and about and come across a podcast that I would like to subscribe to. This involves me writing down the podcast URL and/or emailing it to myself so that I can add it to my podcast subscriptions when I get home.
Wouldn't ...

Hi jessica,
I wsa listening to the latest podcast and heard you say you wanted to hear crazy outlandish ideas for the future of Zune. Well, here's some! (I did email these to you as well but I guessed your email address so haven't a clue if they will have gotten thru or not)

You can see the quizzes a user has created on that user's profile page. We don't have a list of all public quizzes right now, but that's a good suggestion!
Really? I'm shocked. I thought that was the whole point i.e. Browsing a list of quizzes so you can go and answer them.
So yes, a quizzes catalogue would be ...

That probably seems like a daft question given I'm here on the forums asking a question right now but I only got here by typing forums.zune.net into my address bar - I didn't see a link to it from www.zune.net or social.zune.net.
Why is that?
cheers

Sounds like the device database could be corrupted. What is the exact error code you are getting when you try to sync more podcasts to the device?
Don't remember, sorry. But it was basically that the device was full up. Since then I've removed a lot of stuff so can't reproduce the error.

Indeed. So why does it say there is 20.29GB free and total space used is ...

I have a Zune 80.
If I look at the device status within Zune software it says I have the following space usage on my device:
Music: 39.52GB
Podcasts: 30.42GB
Friends 5GB
Total space used: 59.53GB
20.29GB free
Something isn't right. Total space used + space free adds up to 80GB so that's OK. But music + podcasts + friends adds up to a ...

We did work in 3.0 to publish feeds to the WL profile...I don't use mine so I don't know exactly what gets published. I guess I should wait until I earn some badges until I find out. I just haven't seen them yet. Thanks jessica.-Jamie

Any other ideas?
Zune badges show up alongside XBox achievements on gamre cards and vice versa.
Any plays on XBox count toward total plays
Zune games run on XBox Live

Ok, here's one. Any badges that we earn on Zune should show up in the What's new feed on Windows Live. The What's New feed now gets displayed in Messenger (300million+ members) so this will really really get the Zune ...
