You do not need US live ID. All you need is a copy of US version of zune software installation file. In fact, I'm using the newest v2.5 US software and I have access to the market place by signing in with my Canadian Live ID. In the market place right now, they offer you at least  50 different  free songs every day.

The premium earphone is just as good as the BOSE ear buds. Test them yourself at BBor FS. So there's no need for you to waste $130 on a pair of BOSE. Although what I recommend is some shure earphones on sair at BB for about $100 if you're want absolutely the best sound. BOSE is no match against shure.

The best lossy codec for your zune is WMA Professional 10. It's comparable to aac-hc which is not supported by the zune. At 64kbit/s wma 10 professional, it sounds roughly the same as 128kbit/s mp3 and wma. All of the games will rest after you quit because of the following reason I believe:
1) To prevent memory leak
2) DRM issues because DRM is "unlocked" during the gaming mode

The games are you preview state. That is why the XNA game studio 3.0 is a CTP (community technical preview). Games are suppose to be for developers which create the games not the general public.
