Alright, I just received my Fed Ex package for returning my device to Zune support. They're asking for some sort of proof of purchase. I bought my zune last december and have nothing except my credit card statement mentioning the purchase. All the confirmation emails were deleted (cause I figured I would not need them anymore). Would the statement ...

I know the best thing to do would be to send it in.. I checked out the website for the replacement and unfortunately the checkout process does not work for US addresses. I'm weary for sending my Zune at the official repair shop because I've heard that they sometimes switch devices (sometimes ppl get back a different colored zune). I've got a ...

I was changing tracks while jogging today and must have pushed the hold switch too hard but the point is that it is broke. The switch just slides to and fro but does not work as intended. Fortunately, my player was unlocked and so I can still use the zune but I want the hold switch back.I checked by removing the hold switch (using a simple safety ...

Yes, as i said, the games are here... But there is no sign of marketplace distribution in the near future. Although XNA studio (& MS C# 2008) is a workable solution right now, lets not forget that these tools are for game developers. Its not something to play around by average joe. The final version will not have the zune restart issue that we ...

HiZune games have still a long way to go. I believe they might be available sometime late fall 2008 or early spring 2009. This is still a speculation and nothing is concrete. In the meanwhile, if you want to download and play games try zuneboards.com or similar sites. The catch with playing these downloaded games is the little "restart" ...

I wish that there were some kind of reward
points / incentives for the zune pass which could be converted into
free music purchases.
For e.g.:
If a user has zune pass for 3 consecutive month ($45 worth in all)
then (s)he is eligible for converting a certain number of songs (from
the leased songs) worth a certain amt of $$ (lets say $5) ...

Finally I could use my Zune as something more than an expensive Radio
Player. The duplicate song issue was killing me. I hope it is going to
be fixed with this issue. Am going to check it out today and post my
thoughts.

I had the same problems too... seems like the Zune team need to do its homework before the next software release. Well to erase all the contents of your drive just reboot your zune (simultaneously press "UP" and "Back") and as soon as the screen turns blank press "back" + "Right" + "Play/pause" ...

Thanks a Ton... both replies really helped. Now my zune is totally empty and I can start work on filling it up once again.

I am fed up of the duplicate file sync issue. These files hold up as much as 10GB on my Zune 80 and even after several hours of manual removal of the mp3's (which are tagged correctly using MP3Tag in v2.3 UTF-16) from the device, I'm still left with a couple of songs which refuse to be deleted from the device. My only solution is to format the ...

I upgraded to firmware 2.3 and this is when the nightmare started. Whenever I connect My Zune80 to my PC, the zune software will start syncing ghost files. I mean, there are no files to be synced (0 files in sync status) but still the software will take about 10 minutes to do a ghost sync and then be stuck at 99%. I'm getting very tired of this as ...

I had similar problems as you and the only solution that worked for me was to fromat Zune,  do a clean reinstall of OS (vista) and then install Zune software on (your newly formatted) PC and hopefully things should run fine. After doing this procedure, I've never had a problem with syncVista still needs to go a long way to support new and old ...

After 3 months of waiting for Zune 80, I finally got my Zune original
yesterday and I synced all of my 30 GB of mp3's onto it (it took hell
of a time). I realized that I forgot to sync one song and tried to
connect via USB but ZMP  (Zune Media Player) did not recognize my device (although vista
made that USB hardware found sound and ...

A quick post reply:I tried wireless Sync after the device manager trick and my zune said that sync failed. ZMP did not show any device connected either but for some very strange reason my playcount and recent song list has been updated on my zune card. I don't get it...
