Wireless keeps turning on

Anyone else also having issues with their Zune's (mine is Zune 30) wifi automatically turning on all the time? I turn the wifi off every time I use it, but it keeps coming back on by itself. I am updated to the latest firmware. Never had this issue before the new update.

re: Do not Buy a Zune. BUY IPOD read if you dont believe

I had an iPod 4G. It died after a year. I have had my Zune30 for two years now with no problems. And the best part ... Microsoft keeps upgrading it through software. I hate the proprietary software too, but iPod forces you into it too with iTunes.

Use Zune as Library remote control (Xbox 360 and PC)

It is very sad that Microsoft let Apple beat them to the punch with this feature. Yesturday with the 2.0 update, iPod Touches and iPhones can now act as remote controls for the music iTunes library. The cool think is that not only can you browse by text tags, but the album art is also shown. The Zune was the first WIFI music device to come out. ...

Battlestar galactica already 2 episodes behind

I have downloaded the first 4 episodes of Battlestar Galactica from the Zune Marketplace. I am trying to stay "legal" and not get them from torrent sites. But, the Zune Marketplace is already 2 episodes behind. If you don't get them up quick, I am sure I, and many others, will find other ways to get the new release TV shows. These ...

re: Where to download movies for free??

First off, downloading videos can be concidered illegal. Though, I will give you my reason for downloading movies ...- When I download a TV show from the Zune Marketplace, it will only play on my Zune device, or through my Zune software. In order to get around this unfriendly DRM, I download an extra copy using a bit torrent program, from Pirate ...

re: Windows Media Player

Now with the 2.5 Zune software update, I don't mind the Zune software. The only gripe I have with it now is that it can not embed cover art into files. Instead, it just links them to image in folders.Unfortunately, proprietary software is the only way these companies like Microsoft and Apple can make money on download services. They are in it for ...

I have had a Western Digital My Book for 2 years now, and it works great. And yes, I agree, go buy a portable USB drive. It makes managing your music 100 time easier. Plus, it is a great backup source.

re: Album Covers

Use a program like Windows Media Player or iTunes to physically embed the image into each song and you will never have an art problem again. You can do mass edits by selecting all the songs them right clicking them to change the art. Unfortunately, only god knows why, the Zune team decided to not allow us to embed art using the Zune software; so ...

re: gapless playback

[update]After listening to my music today, I did notice a few albums didn't quite flow perfectly. While it did get rid of most of the gap, there were sometimes a pop or static sound for a split second. While it is better than no gapless play, it is kind of annoying and distracting.

I have encoded most of mine using iTunes mp3 > vbr > 192 high. And gapless works correctly. Though, most of my music is not continuous msuic, so I wouldn't be able to hear the screw ups if they were there. "The Wall" worked great for me though.

re: gapless playback

Damn guys, you are going to confuse the original poster with all this conflicting info.- yes, mp3's are inherently encoded with a 1 sec gap. It is a limitation of the codec.- But, the new Zune software cleverly fools this limitation and makes it gapless.
