I rented the movie Masters of Horror: Pro-Life yesterday. Now, the Marketplace said the rental was to last for 14 days after it was played once within 24 hours of being rented. It's been played multiple times and a day later I find I not only can't play the movie anymore, I can't "renew" the rental if I wanted to.

I'm pretty sure that's not supposed to happen so I went to a video store this afternoon in search of a DVD copy with no luck. I need the video for some College coursework and thus I'll need to have some answers in a rather timely fashion.

Ok I have a song by The Chemical Brothers which was given away from their sight about a year ago to promote their new album (at the time) Brotherhood. It had no Album art at the time so I gave it one. Anyway, now the Zune software had given it the wrong album art and information. It is now by the band Madness from one their 1984 albums(wtf?). The problem is that when I want to change it back using the Find Album Info button, I get nothing When I search for the album using "The Chemical Brothers" as a search reference. However, when I manually go to The Chemical Brothers page in the Zune Marketplace, The album to which the song belongs to is there and available for download. Why is it available to download while it is unavailable to correct my music information? Has anyone encountered this issue?

I'm trying to delete a Top 100 playlist I made a few months back to make room for some other songs. However, when I go to the Device tab and select my playlist the only option is to remove the playlist itself and not the songs within it. Right clicking the songs in the playlist Device tab doesn't do anything. It seems the only convenient way to remove the playlist songs en masse from the Zune is to arrange the ablums by time added and find and delete the songs that way since they were added together. This seems like a silly and roundabout way of doing something that should be much easier. Is there an easier way?

Thanks in advance!

Ok, I am pissed. I bought a Zune HD 32GB and got the free 14 day Zune Pass trial and I loved it. All my album art was 600x600 pixels and my Zune looked real crips. I remember marvelling the album art pictures on my laptop. They were gorgeous. Then my laptop broke just after I erased all the content on my Zune, so I didn't use the pass or my zune for about 2 weeks. Now I fixed my laptop and I paid for a 1 month pass and when started downloading songs, I noticed that something wasn't right. The Zune looked terrible. The album art iseffin terrible. When I checked the hidden folders I saw 200 x 200 resolution for the album art at best. Wtf. I know I am OCD, but looking at that ugly blurry thing after using my still crisp iPhone (which I don't use for music), doesn't make me happy especially since I shelled out $300+ for the zune just because of the pass and because iTunes doesn't do subscription.

Can anyone please check and tell me what is the quality of their album art. How does it look on the player and what is the resolution?

I keep thinking that it cannot be the case that I was scammed by MS with higher quality album art during the trial.

Recently, my old computer crashed. And when I bought a new computer and transfered my Zune media to my new computer, I somehow lost the sync rights to hundreds of my songs. The ironic thing, to boot, is that all of those lost songs were bought from the Zune marketplace. Any ideas on how I can fix this would be appreciated.

And note, I ran the media collection reset tool. I also deleted the firmware on my Zune and tried re-syncing everything as well. Hopefully, I'm not SOL.
Hello All,

$subject is what's up. I cannot play many videos in my Zune 4.0 software. All effected videos work fine in WMP. All videos sync to Zune HD and play fine there. Some video content works fine, for example some HD Nine Inch Nails live videos downloaded from Vimeo and some video podcasts. Other video is unwatchable; most importantly all Marketplace video is unwatchable.

The nature of the skipping itself is hard to explain. It isn't like classic video skipping; more like the video blacking-out every second or two. Sometimes it will jump a second or two back and loop over and over again. It is consistent and effects all Marketplace videos but doesn't effect all non-Marketplace content. Some video content is watchable from within the Zune software.

I have 3GB of RAM, a 256mb Nvidia graphics card, a 2ghz dual core Intel processor, and genuine Windows 7 with all updates installed. All of my drivers were provided by Microsoft via Windows update, I have installed no drivers provided by third parties. I run the latest Zune software and have the graphics at the highest settings. Again, the problem only occurs within the Zune software so anything related to my environment can be ruled out; Marketplace videos play fine in Windows Media Player.

Any suggestions? Anyone else seeing the same thing? Anyone from the Zune team want additional diagnostic information or want me to test anything? Let me know.
I've had an 80GB iPod for a few years now and it just died recently. I decided to give the Zune 120GB a try. Loved the styling, the interface, wireless sync, the radio, and hey! it's not Apple!

But my first few days experience left me with a very bad taste in my mouth.

First off, the Zune software was missing over 500 tracks from my 10,700 song library. Before pointing the Zune software to my library, I used MP3TAG to update all of my tags to the current version and make sure they were all valid. None of my tracks are over 256 bit rate. They are all .mp3 format with a few albums of .m4a. Oddly, the tracks that were missing were all .mp3 extension. I also noticed that the Zune software would randomly remove tracks from the library in real time as I was watching the # of songs count. No matter what I did I could not get the Zune software to add these files to the collection. They would play in the software fine though! Go figure!

The radio on the Zune blows. It was one of the primary reasons I bought the Zune instead of another iPod. I live about 15 minutes outside NYC in NJ and the Zune could only auto-locate 2 channels. Unacceptable.

As much as I hate to say it though, I'm returning the Zune to Amazon and getting another iPod. Microsoft touts the Zune software as "not a spreadsheet" but I have to say iTunes has it's own problems but heck, at least it finds all your music. Which is pretty important.

I wanted to like the Zune and actually, I do. It's the software that ruins the experience. Anywho, I really hope they fix the software and just make it work rather than add all the eye candy.

Hi ..

Question: How does zune determine if an mp3 file is to be read into the 'music collection' or the 'podcast collection' ?

Example: I have a folder with several mp3 files. Best I can tell the files have the same format and advanced properties as each other. All of the files except for one ended up where I expected (collection --> music) but some of the files end up in (collection --> podcast) instead, which is not desired. Zune calls it a podcast and states that it can not determine the URL for the podcast series, etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am having this trouble quite a bit. Thanks.

A friend of mine transferred some songs that apparently he got off the marketplace or something, but now I can't get rid of them. They cant be played anymore, (which I'm fine with) but I can't seem to delete them efficiently. I transferred all the content from my zune to my PC, wiped the zune and now I'm trying to put everything back on. I didn't realise that I had some zune pass songs stuck in there when I transferred so now I have a few songs that can't be used, and I was hoping that the zune software had some method of detecting these and getting rid of them. I have several hundred gigs of music, and I'm not terribly interested in going through each and every song to determine if it's a zune pass song or not.

Is there any way to wipe these out quickly? I could have sworn the software used to have a method of deleting content purchased off the marketplace but I can't find it.
Every time I try to add a new podcast, or even worse import one, it seems to go even crazier. All of my podcasts that I am subscriped to have at least 2, maybe 3 or even 4 entries for every single option. Others just seem to randomly grab podcasts that I individually download and declare "That is also part of this podcast!" even though it is not. Deleting all files then resubscribing makes it think some files are already downloaded when they are deleted, and I cannot convince it otherwise.

This is all in the Zune software, the Zune itself is fine save the fact that it seems to order some of the podcasts in a random order, and I cannot find a way to sort them or setup playlists, but I am convinced this is related to the fact that these files were manually downloaded instead of thru the Zune software, and the timestamp on them is wrong.
Hi everyone.
I apologize if this has been posted elsewhere, but I've spent the past hour researching this issue and have had no luck finding anything posted already. Here's my problem.

I have a Compaq SR5250NX. The machine came with Vista, but it was horribly slow so I downgraded to XP. XP runs like a dream and I've had no issues to speak of... except one. I cannot play or burn CDs within Zune. I can burn CDs and DVDs in other programs, such as Windows Media Player and Nero. However, Zune does not recognize that I have inserted a blank disc, and therefore will not allow me to burn. Similarly, if I insert an audio CD to listen to, it does not recognize it so I cannot play it. However, I play and burn in other programs just fine. Sometimes after running Zune, the other programs will not recognize the CD either -- but a restart fixes that.

I've tried looking for an updated driver, but the only ones I could find online were older than the ones that XP installed automatically. Furthermore, I read online that versions of Windows 95+ don't require optical drivers. This seems to make sense, considering I used the drive to install Windows itself and use it fine with every other program.

Anyone have any idea why I can't use this drive within Zune? Hopefully there is a patch or driver somewhere that will fix this issue? I prefer to use Zune for all of my media needs and hate having to use another program to burn or play a simple audio CD. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much.
