It happened to my band recently...Blake announced that he left Metro Station. They're so amazing, too bad they'll have to replace the guy.

I've also heard of it happening to Hey Monday and one I found recently, City Light Dreams. And others on MySpace that I can't remember.

Anyone else upset about one of these bands having troubles like that? Or perhaps another band with such a problem? I sure am, I met Metro Station in person. Plus, I got a shirt with their photo on it (meaning Blake is on it) thru the mail the day before he announced it.

Doesn't that suck?

There are no small minds, just big heads. - BT
Alright, so I am a pretty big Crimson fan. In my opinion Red and Lark's Tongue are probably their strongest in my opinion. The Red/Lark's Tongue/Starless Bible Black trilogy was really the years in which they truly stood out. Discussions anyone? What is your favorite and why?
What do you get when you combine Israeli psychedelic trance, five gigantic sharks, Perry Farrell, and a little bit of Korn? Infected Mushroom’s new album of course!

Due for release on September 8th via Paul Oakenfold’s Perfecto label, Legend Of The Black Shawarma will mark the acclaimed electro duo’s seventh full-length album. And as one would expect for such a momentous occasion, the album, which features a title said to be inspired by a shark dive the band went on during a tour of Australia two years ago, will see Amit “Duvdev” Duvedevani and Erez Eisen teaming with high-profile rockers, such as Jane’s Addicition’s Perry Farrell and Korn’s Jonathan Davis. Not much else better than that!

Legend of the Black Shawarma Tracklist:
01. Poquito Mas
02. Sa’eed
03. End of the Road
04. Smashing the Opponent (feat. Jonathan Davis)
05. Can’t Stop
06. Herbert the Pervert
07. Killing Time (feat. Perry Farrell)
08. Project 100
09. Franks
10. Slowly
11. Legend of the Black Shawarma

BUY Legend of the Black Shawarma

OK so I was out [roller] skating this evening and the DJ played a track
that had this funky/hip-hop/jazzy sound to it. No lyrics so nothing to
go off of there. When I asked him about it he said it was by the
J.B.'s, but the only J.B.'s I could think of is the James Brown
J.B.'s. Now Like I said no words, but what it does have is a large
strings part (sounded like Cello) and horns (Sax, trumpet). It is an
awesome grove and I really don't want to have to wait till next Sunday
to hear it again. I know that it is not much to go off of but any help
would be greatly appreciated.

(I know that I posted this in the jazz sub-forum also but I really need this song and I need the help)

I'm sure there must be a post like this somewhere. I've seen favorite lyrics. But I want to discuss lyrics that make you scratch your head and say what? or why?

I'll kick it off with a song by my beloved Echo and the Bunnymen "Baby Rain" The chorus keeps repeating "in the rain baby rain"

I know the word baby often finds its way into popular music but I can't help but picture a downpour of infants and toddlers. OK, who's next

I'm an instructor for a winterguard and for our show next season's show I want to have a tribute to those who were involved in Hurricane Katrina. What I'm looking for is a rendition of When the Saints go Marching In, in a ragtime jazz style. I want something that has that down home NOLA sounds. Something you expect to hear at Mardi Gras. Do anyone have any suggestions or know of another Jazz Band/Groups that may have such a song? Shoot me a message.

pHATE
Ok so I was just born in the 80s but the music is still in my head regardless! Plus I just got a new car that has that Sirius radio in it... and I have it constantly on the 80s on 8 channel. So here's the challenge:

-Post one from each of these categories below from the 80s era:
---- Favorite Artist
---- Favorite Song (doesn't have to fall under the same artist)
---- Favorite Style (could be anything from cars to hair, etc...)
---- Favorite movie
---- Most rememberable moment in the 80s (good or bad doesn't matter... this is just to add a little history education into it)

Reposts of the same thing are allowed just if it is said from a different person.

So lets party!

Fav Artist- Journey (Billy Idol was a close second)
Fav Song- Take On Me by a-Ha (here's something if you haven't seen it yet: Take On Me (literal version) this made the song soo much better!
Fav Style- Huge Hair!
Fav Movie- Aliens
Rememberable moment- NES was made!!!

Alright who is next?

~Ty

I could always add more to my library so suggestions would be good.

PS - I'm into 90s-like slow jams, none of this crappy ass RnB music these days. Like crappy ass Rihanna and Chris Brown. Rihanna doesn't even belong to RnB. Her vocals have no soul whatsoever! If you ask me, the only decent artist these days that come out with decent slow jams is Mariah. Neyo only has one good slow jam as far as I'm concerned (Mad).
Im seriously trying to figure out who did the club banga with one of the illest beats ive rocked to. Only thing I have to offer for a clue as to what I'm looking for is a vague description of the joint... it goes... boom boom boom boom(beat) HOUSE!... boom boom boom boom HOUSE!... It has a sick piano riff that goes hand and hand with the boom boom boom. Missy Elliot uses it in one of her videos when they flip flop beats toward the end of the video. I dont have any media file with the beat to upload if anyone knows from my vague descript... Holla..

"I hope you die", by Bloodhound Gang

You must die I alone am best!

I hope ya flip some guy the bird
He cuts you off and youre forced to swerve
In front of the beatles tour bus
A bookmobile and a mack truck
Hauling hazardous biological waste
The light turns red you have no brakes
And hard copy gets it all on tape
So you can see the look on your face

Die die die die die die die
Die die die die die die die

I hope your pinto begins to spin
Takes out a disabled vietnam veteran
Mows down a nobel peace prize winner
And maybe some orphans having christmas dinner
Perhaps even the british royal family
And the rabbi thats clutching the bottle-fed puppy
And we cant forget the newlyweds
And those jerrys kids are as good as dead

I hope this helps to emphasize
I hope this helps to clarify
I hope you die

I hope your cellmate thinks hes god
But c.n.n. refer to him as bowling ball bag bob
Serving time again for abuse of a corpse
Only this time the victims a clydesdale horse
While he masturbates to photos of livestock
He does the silence of the lambs dance to christian rock
Eats *** and quotes from deliverance
And fights with his imaginary playmate vince

Die die die die die die die
Die die die die die die die

I hope he grins like jack nicholson
And forces you to play a game called balls on chin
And whatever happens next is all a blur
But you remember fist can be a verb
And when you finally regain consciousness
Youre bound and gagged in a wedding dress
And the prison guard looks the other way
cause hes the guy ya flipped the bird the other day

I hope this helps to emphasize
I hope this helps to clarify
I hope you die

I am in need of help. I am in a funk of my own doing and am in need of some music to wallow in while I sort some things out in my own head. A song that currently nails what I am feeling and going through is Lips of an Angel by Hinder. If you this song, you know what I may be dealing with. I am not looking for cheer me up songs. Any reccomendations are appreciated.
