I am currently taking care of a number of podcasts for clients. Radio Disclosure has had the wrong graphic displayed on Zune Market place for a year! The graphic displayed is not even on our server. There is no one, no place or thing you can write and get any support at all.
Last week from the Radio Disclosure Zune Marketplace page the website link worked.
Now that link crashes the Zune software.
Microsoft has made no effort to answer my last post on this forum that I would think would have got their attention.
Microsoft provides no method of interaction to podcasters and this frustrates even the largest television networks.
I know, I talk to their content people daily.
This something that Microsoft stockholders need to be made aware of.
Podcasting is a big deal today and I would think it vital to the promotion of the Zune product line.
Look for yourself how many folks read my last post at this time the count is 67 and not one response.
I would not expect forum members to answer but I would expect Microsoft to respond in some way.
In our office we have 6 of the 30 gig Zune players.
From the start Microsoft would not support any of these players.
This is another thing Microsoft stockholders need to be made aware of!
I am going to devote a number of radio shows to this thing as I find it unthinkable.
I am going interview the content people from all of the television networks and talk about their struggle attempting to put content on Zune Marketplace.
ITunes provides podcast tech support as they appreciate content providers producing pod-casts and using ITunes.
In this economy there is no US company that can afford to be as smug and aloof as Microsoft!
With Microsoft the customer and consumer come last.
Microsoft has prospered and the US economy and population has been good to Microsoft.
This is how they show their appreciation.
I see great people in these forums struggling with problems and not a second is given to them by Microsoft.
What goes up can easily come back down.
I can clearly see why the Zune product line has done so poorly in-spite of it being a superior player to the IPOD.
The Zune product is clearly a better piece of hardware than the IPOD and the design engineers are geniuses.
The rest of Microsoft are lackluster and have clearly dropped the ball in all areas of the court.
Who wants to own something that has no support manufactured by a smug unthankful company!

.

I posted a question about a disappearing graphic and 49 people read the question and so far no one from Microsoft has bothered to even to pretend to answer my question. The Ronnie Milsap Podcast will not update properly on Marketplace. QSO Radio Show is missing an episode and will not update. It hung up last week and would not update. Earthfiles has had problems updating as well as the graphic for Radio Disclosure is some strange picture that is not even on the Radio Disclosure website. I have no problems with ITunes. They support their site. If it were just one isolated problem it would different but we run a radio network all the shows I just mentioned I do the feeds for. They are all screwed up. Microsoft makes no attempt to read these forums or help solve any problems. It is beyond ridiculous! That is why Zune does not compete with the IPOD in that Microsoft has no respect for their own product. If they dont improve their service on Zune Marketplace I am going to pull all of the content from their site. It is just not worth the headache and problems. All of our Zune listeners get disappointed real quick with Marketplace. It seems very bad that a major entertainer who is submitting a weekly podcast is provided only a public forum to report problems that are the fault of Microsoft then wait for weeks for a responce. I would think they would care as this is a radio network with millions of listeners.

I have never listened to a podcast before, but I would like to. Our school district does them, and my church puts up our pastor's messages. I am clueless, however, on how to go about syncing these to my Zune HD.

I have three options for getting the church messages, iTunes, Download, or stream. I tried the download option, and it shows up on my Playlist menu, but when I drag and drop it in my Zune, then sync, the little Zune icon never shows up and it's not on my device.

I tried the iTunes option, but I've never gotten along well with iTunes and I don't know what to do once I find the file on there.

The instructions on Zune.net say to copy the URL after clicking the RSS feed button, but there's no RSS feed button on our church page.

If anyone has any suggestions, I would appreciate them very much. I am pasting a link to our church's message page below for reference. Thank you!

http://www.calvaryonline.cc/page.asp?sid=1&page=554

I like building up a decent collection of podcasts for listening up to a couple months after I download them, so it's frustrating that I can only keep either 10 episodes at a time or all of them, and manually deleting them is a pain. There's gotta be a way to keep, say, 25 episodes at a time...

After one of our podcasts was finally added after waiting for almost a year the graphic just vanished for no reason we know of. Someone from the Zune support team fixed the problem.. Now the description of the same podcast has vanished! Nothing has changed in the feed. Can someone help? I just added the Ronnie Mislap Show podcast. This is a show that Ronnie is producing him self. We are doing the webs stuff and RSS for him.. The thing got added in less than 24 hours and without a single problem! Now our description is gone on the Amateur Radio QSO Show. I have no clue as to why?... there may not be a reason...another glitch?

So ive been listing to a gaming podcast for about 2 years now and I thought i should recommended to anyone thats enjoys gaming or any other forms of entertainment. The name of it is Dead Pixel Live and its apart of a website called allgames.com that was started by a former co creator of g4 and host of a show called g4tv.com Scot Rubin, but had left when G4 started turning into the spike rip off that it is today.... Scot himself hosts a show All Games Interactive that aired mon-friday that averaged 2 hours long, however each Saturday could actually end up being up to 10 hours long, but unfortunately AGI has been a break but may come back when the new site launches soon.

As for Dead Pixel Live (DPL) it took over as the lead show on allgames.com It is hosted by 3 members that had been apart of the community since the start. Each adding there special little touch to the show. The show actually airs Monday-Thursday on allgames.com or video.deadpixellive.com at 3:30 PST/6:30 EST and is then added to the feed the next day before noon. Each show is about 2 hours leaving them time too talk about the days news, take calls, and also talk about other subjects... DPL isn't just about games, its what gamers talk about. Theres also is a IRC chat room that you can join that always has people in it whether there is a show on air or not.... its in the gamesurge server and the channel name is #allgames.com

Anyways thought id recommend a podcast thats kept my laughing for years, heres the deep link to it in the marketplace and i hope you can enjoy it as much as I do

http://tempuri.org/tempuri.html

I am thinking of getting a Zune and am taking the Zune software for a spin and I have a couple questions.

The first is creating playlists of podcasts. I can't for the life of me figure it out. In Itunes I have a playlist of all unlistened to podcasts. That's all I want in Zune but I can't work out how to do that. How would I do this or something like this with the Zune?

The second question has to do with keeping back episodes. I want to be able to keep all episodes of a podcast unless I delete them. I can't figure out a way to do this without having to download all the back episodes. I also want to make it sure it keeps downloading episodes even if I haven't listened to a podcast in a while.

Thanks for any help

I download the QSO podcast each week. There Graphic comes and goes on Zune's Podcast download area on MarketPlace. So I have been following this situation after hearing Ted Randall talking about it on the show. I can't find the podcast on my Zune when driving down the road when Zune Marketplace deletes the graphic from the listing. When thumbing through the pocasts on my Zune there is no Graphic to see to select the podcast. I have written the forum a number of times and never got an answer or a reply. It's time to ditch the Zune and purchase an IPhone or new IPod. Missing graphics are a regular thing on Zune from most of the podcasts I download. One week the graphic is missing from Dave Ramsey the next week the graphic is missing from Fox TV stuff. The show descriptions will be old and this is not the case with the RSS feeds because i check them. It is Zune! If you type in QSO or subscribe to it when the page comes up in Zune Marketplace there will be no graphic this week. There was one last week. I checked thier RSS feed on my browser and the graphic displays just fine and it meets all thier specs. Yet is is gone this week and was present last week. I have been downloaded most of my podcasts now from ITunes. There is a better selection as many of the podcasters have just stopped uploading to Zune Marketplace due to the constant screw ups. I did not realize how may podcasts I could not get on Zune Marketplace until I made a trip to ITunes. Manay of these podcasters used to be on Zune but just got disgusted like I am getting disgusted. I have written to several of the podcasters, some from major TV shows and the wrote me back telling me to get the podcast from ITunes as Zune Marketplace was hopeless. They sell you a player then encourage you to use thier software and just like Microsoft it's all talk and no follow though! Then again how many people did they leave hanging out in the cold over Vista. I think it is safe to say they have made their money and they dont feel they are accountable to anyone. In the mean time No Windows 7 for our offices we are going to Mac's! I dont like the Mac but I really respect the effort Apple puts into all they do and the service they provide thier customers. Microsoft could care less. In the mean time I have no way of finding QSO on my Zune its there but no graphic if I am engaged in any kind of activity I must pull off the road to use this player. If I must pull off the road to find a podcast because the folks at Zune can't run a server then I NEED an Ipod!

Due to a recent total systems failure, my podcasts (luckily backup to an external hard drive) have lost their proper "Published Date" and have reverted to the date I recovered them from my external hard drive. I have tried changing the created, modified, and accessed timestamps of the actual files, but to no avail. I have almost 50 sequential podcasts that I would like to put back in proper order, but I have no clue how to do it without modifying the titles. Does anyone know where I can fix the dates? I'm not afraid to get a little dirty.
Thanks,

vinniem5

Partisanship and Ugly Politics

With screaming activists attending healthcare town halls this month, counter crowds, guns at Presidential rallies, we look at the history of partisanship of disagreement and politics getting ugly. It's not at all hard to do. Politics is a battle for power and not surprisingly, things get ugly quite often. It would be harder to find a time when things weren't so tense. We focus on key areas - The Jay Treaty, McCarthy/La Folette and Nixon-Voorhis and the start of Communism politics, and how could we forget Preston Brooks and his cane. Was Ben Franklin right? That our politics will be run by the "bold and violent?" Or is there aother way.

Zune owners use to make up 15% of the listenrs now down to 6% - So are iPOD smarters then Zune owners? Give them a listen - it is non-partisan and very educational and provides good background in our trying time - Don

As I was trying to download a free podcast from zune marketplace (cartoon corner), the error code: C00D1317 pops up saying "zune doesn't support this episode's media format". What I don't understand is why would it be in the zune marketplace if it is not supported by zune? Someone please advise.

Good morning. The podcast feeds--for the daily UK newspaper the Guardian--are not working now in Zune.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/audio/rss
http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/world+content/audio/rss
http://www.guardian.co.uk/books/books+content/audio/rss

There are about 10 more of these on the Guardian site that are not working. The error message is "Error C00D1319--site appears valid but no content found."

This is another feed that works fine on newsfox, etc.
I've tried numerous times to submit my podcast feed to Zune.net, and unfortunately it does not seem to work. What I *have* seen that works is when you post on the forum that your podcast hasn't been accepted... So here I am, hoping that someone from support will see this.

I have followed all the tips in the sticky post at the top of this forum:
- the RSS feed needs to be valid
- the attachments need to be in a Zune-compatible format (like MP4 for video, not QuickTime .mov files)
- podcast needs to have album artwork at least 200x200 in size but preferably 300x300 or bigger
- content of an extremely sexual or mature nature may not be added
- the podcast feed should include a comprehensive description or blurb that describes the podcast

I absolutely LOVE my Zune, and I love the podcast software itself. But please, Zune Support Team, get the glitch for submitting/accepting podcasts fixed. Your dominance over iTunes would then be complete. :-)

Website: LibertarianChristians.com
Podcast Feed: http://libertarianchristians.com/feed/podcast/

Thanks!
~Norman
