I am trying to purchase music on zune marketplace which requires me to log into my account. The issue I am having is updating the "terms of service". By updating that, there is a parent e-mail verification also. Whenever I put the parent account and password in and click next there is a message that says that the age verification has failed, and that the age of the e-mail address is "not old enough to give permission to sign up for Zune." I am very confused and would like to change my parent e-mail address to a new one, but I cannot get to 'manage my account' without having to verify the new "terms of service" This is very frustrating and I've been trying to fix it for days. I'm getting fed up with this program quickly. PLEASE HELP!

I called about my Zune player earlier and it said my Zune player's been shipped. I tried tracking the progress, but I couldn't and still I haven't received my Zune player yet.

I don't know my tracking number for UPS or when it shipped, though my estimate is on November 10.

How long did it take you to get yours repaired and shipped back?
I noticed that the Zune HD has a menu items for apps instead of games. This is a great change and really opens up the Zune.

1) Does this mean you can create applications for the Zune that with just the .Net framework (w/o XNA)?

2) Where can you get the development tools to make developing for the Zune HD easier (.Net SDK, Emulator, etc)?

3) Any instructions on how to package a Zune HD application so it is easy to install (aka: one click install).

4) When will there be a Marketplace where developers can post the applications they write (either for free of for sale)? If it already exist, then what is the link to it?

There are millions of .Net developers, so MS should take advantage of that and make it as easy as possible to develop/distribute applications for the Zune HD. This is the only way the Zune HD will be able really compete with the IPod Touch.

Using the Zune software to listen to music and when it goes idle and to the now playing view, the one with all the album art in the background, it locks up on one part of the song and loops continuously while my computer is frozen until it crashes and reboots. This only happens when zune is running, looking for suggestions.
In the last 6-8 weeks I have had to reboot and restore my firmware and music 5 times for my zune30. I can't understand what is causing this. It will work just fine after I go through the whole process of restoring but it last about 2 weeks than it will stop playing sometimes in the middle of a song, and than freeze. When I try to restart it I get a black screen and nothing happens. I than have to do a hard restore that can take up to 3 hours. I didn't have these issues until I downloaded the lastest firmware. My software on my pc is 4.0 but the firmware on the zune30 is always the 3.20. I wish I could get a response from someone. Is my player outdated? is the battery going out? I don't want an IPOD but I don't see anyone of my kids having issues like this with their ipods.

Because i want to reset the zune to factory settings and get everything off of it because it keeps skipping through songs, videos, pictures, and games. It says "This item is missing or can not play" and stuff.

I've rebooted it by holding the top of the pad and holding play/pause

and pressing down on the zune pad and holding down and arrow button.

I ran it out of battery and charged it again,

I got my 32gb Zune HD around the middle of October, and when I realized I haven't registered it, I looked for the box it came in for the Serial Number. I had an 80gb Zune a while ago, and I knew the Serial Number was on the bottom of it's box on a big white sticker over a white space underneath. On the Zune HD box however, there was just a white space, but no sticker and no information. I looked all over the Zune software and the device for clues as to what the Number for my HD is, but I haven't found anything. This was a Zune Original, and I have no idea why the number, essential to registration, is so frustrating to find.
I am just wondering if Zune is using direct show or the wmf now use by wmp in windows 7. Or is it a bit of both? I ask because it would seem that if it is a direct show player, you should be able to manipulate other formats to play in the media player software and if indeed it is wmf, why not expand the playable formats like WMP12 has? Haven't researched this a whole lot and the only thing I can find codec wise are DMO objects. Anyone have an anser for this??
I go to register my old zune to see if it can't be repaired and when I enter in the SN, it comes up as all ready registered. I find it incredibly hard to believe that Zune would stamp two different Zune's with the same SN but I see no reason why someone would register a stolen SN. Any idea how to fix this, cause my old zune is a Halo 3 edition and I would like to have it fixed.
I dont understand why microsoft has refused to market the Zune HD at all. I dont see any displays in stores i go to and i havent seen a single commercial. The only time i see an ad on the internet is on msn.com sometimes. What gives? It makes me want to sell the device cause if they have no interest in selling more, then companies will have no interest in making accessories for it. Its pretty frustrating to go looking for a dock and not being able to find one. With Rhapsody on the ipod touch now, i might switch to an Ipod/ Apple TV setup. I will be able to sell my HD and my dock for just as much, and enjoy more than 2 games and an actual app store on the device. I have been a zune owner since the first flash zunes came out, but im ready to sell it now. Its me and probably only 50,000 more people in the world that bought an HD, and that is probably overshooting it. Studios wont let us have HD movies on the marketplace cause there is no market to buy them, developers wont make games for it, mostly probably because microsoft wont let them. The player is the best i have ever used, but its not worth having no HD movies for it, no games, and no 3rd party support on anything. What gives microsoft?

Here's some background: I thought I had either lost my Zune (big hole in dress pants... sometimes I forget), or that it was stolen at work. After a week of frantic searching, I caved and purchased a new one from wal-mart's online shop (meh..). 4 days after I purchased the new Zune, I found my old one. The next day, my new one arrives, about a week quicker than I anticipated. I decided I would keep the new one and give the old one to my brother since the older one was a 4 gig and the new an 8 gig (cheap and meets my needs!).

Here's the problem.

The new one didn't come with any installation disc, and when I link it to the comp with the USB, my Zune software doesn't read it. Is it possible to add a new Zune or whatever so that the Zune software on my comp recognizes it? I'm going to email Wal-Mart after this post to see if they can send me an installation disc, and then search this site for any info, but I see no reason why not to try the forums as well. I'm not quite sure where the disc for the original is at, and while I can download it from this site seemingly (I have and yet it shows the old one still), I would prefer not completely removing the software from my computer.

Any help would be appreciated, and if I need to clarify, let me know.

I haven't really hit these forums at all until today but is there something going on with the Zune PC software? It was perfect when I first installed it but I didn't use it for a few weeks and now it's insanely slow at loading anything. My PC is fine and I'm running dual raptors with 4gigs on Vista 32 so it shouldn't be my end. I just did a speed test to double check my net and i'm at 6.6mb/s. The slow software is just about unbearable. Any advice, input or info?

Looking back. I've bought 6 Zunes. 2 30's, 1 8gb and 3 120's. But on the registration page none of them come up.

Now, half of these I bought as gifts. But each of the 120's I bought I also requested the premium headphones from Zune and Zaid said they registered the devices for me. ( yes, I sent the headphone request from the same e-mail address that is registered to my Zune account ).

When trying to register my latest 120 manually the Zune website tells me "already registered"

So.. what to do? I've tried to get the warranty department to send me a shipping label but after 2 months and numerous calls it never came..

How can I find out who the Zune people actually registered my Zunes to.. and how to get them onto my account?

Hi...just discovered my daughter's zune was stolen by one of her so called 'friends'. Just wondering what I could do, can I contact support with the serial number? Will they be able to track it if someone buys a zune pass for it? She hasn't even had it 3 months and this was replacing an I-pod that my daughter accidently threw away when cleaning her room. I also can't remember if we registered it or not. All this and the thief got away with 2 digital cameras as well. Help please. Thank you.
When are we going to get an ZuneHD with a big hard drive...Haven't bought new Zune because it can't hold entire Music Collection let alone HD video

I happlied upgraded to classic Zune to Zune 120 when it came out because it could finally hold all of my music collection. I was excited to here that a new Zune with HD ability was coming out but when I discovered it was only going to hold 30 GB of space....

It was so disappointing that the new ZuneHD would have such a small hard drive. Come on now. I wasn't going back to have to figure out what music and now HD video I would have to put on the device. It was a complete non-starter.

So when are we going to get a bigger HD in the Zune....May I suggest something really big...like 250 Gb or bigger so I can put all my music and all my pictures and the best of my HD videos on the device without having to figure out what should be on the device. It is a waste of time.

I have a crap load of commerical Digital copies of movies that I would be happy to load on a new ZuneHD that had the space to place them on it, as well as all of my music and digital photos.

Also, could you add a feature that allows the details of a song (like when you view the details under the file properties) to be displayed on the Zune menu. Sometime it is nice to pull up when you are talking music/song specifics. And then you could you add a feature on the Software/device that could make an auto-playlist based on the year of when a song/album was released or a style of music.

Hi,

I have a v2 Home A/V dock with a remote control. After a few months the remote started working very irregularly. Sometimes it's unresponsive and sometimes the buttons switch controls (ex: the back button suddenly becomes the select button). I've tried replacing the battery, but I get the same results. I haven't abused or dropped this remote. Is there a way I can send this in and get it fixed or replaced? I don't want to have to spend $70 to buy a whole new A/V pack just to get a new remote.

Thanks!

Well, for some odd reason there are parental blocks in place on my account, when I'm pretty sure there shouldn't be. Main reason being that I am 19, paying for Zune/Live with my own money, and shouldn't have to worry. Contacted my mom and she's pretty sure there's no blocks that she put on, or anything along those lines, there a way to fix this?

So I don't understand how the music genres are formed. 1st off I listen to everything and worked at best buy for 5 years and have been in the music business. So lets take the metal genre. I'm pretty sure Hollywood undead, nickleback, buckcherry, Bon jovi and etc. are not metal. Metal by industry standards, AC/DC, Pantera, Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Mega death, Lamb of God, dimmu, and etc. So for my point here is a list for the true metal fan. The band that zune considers metal is, pop rock, Nurock, ALT, rock, Grunge, But not metal. This is not a rant or rave or promotion for metal music, just would like an understanding how there can be this big of a range in music in one genre.

Man i just got this 32GB HD a couple nights ago and my player is already acting up. Ocassionally music freezes and seemingly randomly the screen will turn pitch black and i cant do anything to get out of it outside of totally turning it off and back on again. I had the option of getting store credit and getting the ipod touch but i loved my 120gb zune so i wanted to stick with what i knew. Is this sort of thing common? Is it a problem just with the latest firmware or is it a general problem with the player or what? I'm becoming frustrated with this thing WAY too soon into owning it.
