re: Learn How To Use Forums... Please.

Since no one seems to want to read the forum rules and many people here seem to be new to this, here's some simple rules:

SEARCH FIRST.  If you are going to post a topic, search it first!  I have been looking through some topics and have found people asking how to do things long after the question was answered.  This is bogging down the forums.  We already have way too many pages of uselessness.  9 pages of topics after the first day is too many in my opinion.

BE COURTEOUS.  Let people speak.  Don't post flame topics.  Don't spam.  Don't call people names.  Put away your stereotypes.  Don't bash products, even iPods (yes I said it).

POST IN THE APPROPRIATE SECTION.  The Zune team has outlined quite well what goes in each section.  If you've got something else, they've made a section for that too.

And now, for the designers of this site:

Add a quick reply box please.  It's annoying to have to scroll up to reply to a topic.  This feature is usually standard in forums.

Put a dedicated forums link next to the Zune logo at the top.  It's terribly inconvenient to have to mouse over Social to get to them.

Have you tried search? Totally broken.

I agree that a quick reply section is needed.
But about the search tool, it doesn't seem very helpful.

Oh, you're right.  Okay, then, secondary note to Zune team: make the search function work.

Secondary note to forum-goers: at least check the last couple of pages to make sure you're not reposting.

the little flashing text line ( | <= that thing) didn't always show up when I first started posting here.  On this post, where I was planning on complaining about it, it shows up.  hmmm. 

And the search function didn't work last night.  I'm going to try again when I finish this post.

Make sure you use the forum search tool and not the search on the very top of the page -- that one is to search the site.
