I know that alot of people say in the corporate world that you shouldn't complain unless you have a solution to a problem.
Well its not everyday that you pay for problems either. In this case the move from Zune 30GB or any other player to the Zune 80GB takes the cake.
1. The new software looks like it was designed by some drunk care bear. I am all for unique art style but this is ridiculous.
2. It doesn't work with Windows Media Center 2005 even with the updates installed. I still keep getting a 'Software is not compatible' error.
3. Trying to reverse sync is indeed a wonderful pain in the ***. ( I had to restart it 3 times because of the sleep mode on the usb ports on XP SP2 on my laptop.)
4. Why did you make the design for moving files so darn inconvenient. I would have taken some completely off the street people and had them beta the new software and if they couldn't figure it out I would have scrapped the whole software design.
5. Microsoft Zune Team didn't provide any software to help people migrate from the 30GB to the 80GB, WTF Don't you think people would give their old Zunes away creating a wider user base? Its just common sense.
6. After discovering that the new Zunes had touch scrolling I had the idea of moving MP3s off of one of the old Creative Nomad 20gb players to my hard drive and then syncing the folder where I was saving the files to my Zune 80.
I would move some off then sync then verify they synced and then I would move some more and I was deleting the files off the old mp3 player.
Then as I was deleting the files off of my desktop I noticed that the Zune software had sync'd and removed close to 10GB of MP3s that I have had for several years on the Nomad and I did not have a backup. I was soooo pissed off at this point I just said f-it and went to bed. I lost everything and you guys didn't even give us a way to prevent it from removing files from the Zune.
Hell the software didn't even ask. It just removed them. I can't even find the stuff anymore because it was out of print and rare even when I had it. I am still livid. Oh the best part was when I went to the store to see if maybe I could buy it again and the CDs that I had were available but not all of the songs were availbe to purchase. Grrrr.....
How could your Zune design teams even allow software as horrible as this to be considered 2.0. At least make it work with Windows Media Player 11 for christ sake. Don't just redesign it without any point. Its supposed to be easier to use not harder. No wonder Apple has such a foothold on everything. Even Creative is getting their asci handed to them.
What I would like to know is WHEN should I expect some kind of FIX for this attrocity that you have released upon the unsuspecting public.
Who cares if you were trying to get new trendy people with it. Its a piece of crap. You won't even allow us to use the old software because the firmware won't let you. Unbelievable. Gestapo to the very end. Thank you Zune Design Team you really know how to welcome people to The Social.
