Altec Lansing M604

I recently bought the Altec Lansing M604 speaker system. This system sounds great! If you were thinking about buying it, you will not be disappointed. It has great Lows and Highs. I use it when I'm in the shower. Yes I sing in the shower.

I too have this piece of equipment, and I LOVE it. I use it every night and during the day. It is plenty loud, good soudn quality. Pretty good bass too. I spent more than 75, but it was worth the 105 I paid.

Yep.  My hubby got one from office depot when it was on sale for $99 at the store.  Not sure if they have them anywhere else.

Out on the course listening to my Zune baby!!

It's sold in Target, Best Buy, Circuit City and even a few Wal-marts - unfortunately, it's the only speaker dock in that price range that's any good (though I don't think the bass is good at all); we need more!

I really hope Microsoft/Zune releases a speaker dock with an alarm clock feature with it.

That would be GREAT! I was thinking about that the other day.

Altec Lansing player won't work with Zune's new Firmware

The ZUNE player charges but it won't play.  I've used it on the Altec Lansing player without a hitch every day for the past several months.  After updating the firmware this morning, it will no longer play by just sitting in the dock.

I called Microsoft, they couldn't help and said I had to call Altec.

I called Altec and they said they had been receiving calls about this issue and I had to call Microsoft!

I saw this post and got worried, so I tried my upgraded Zune 30 in my Altec Lansing speaker dock. It's working all right.

But I seem to recall a pre-upgrade issue where the dock got ornery if the Zune was already playing when it was put in the dock. Try turning the Zune off or pausing it, turning the dock on, putting the Zune in, and then hitting "play" on the Zune. See if that helps.

Edit: Or did you mean that the remote control doesn't seem to communicate with the device anymore? I seem to be having some issues with getting the remote to work. I don't know if it's a weak battery issue in the remote, or if it's the firmware upgrade, since the last time I used the remote with the speaker dock was pre-upgrade.

Do you use the headphone jack or does it play through the USB?

I have one of thoes at home.  It did work with zune 30, 4, and 80.  With Zune 80, i had to remove a plastic mold that holds zune.  if you are careful, you can just remove it by hand.
