Zune 80 availability = Zero

I hope someone has had some luck today finding a Zune80.  I've been to three wal-marts (one in a college town), another is the second largest wal-mart ever built, and the other was a tiny one and they all said the same thing.  They got the 4 and 8, but no 80.  I went to Target too.  This particular target was selling the 4 and 8 a week early and they told me today that they haven't recieved any 80's yet.  So, what gives?  Anyone struck gold yet?

I'm going to try Staples and then head to Best Buy when they open and hope to the high heavens they have an 80.  I've wasted too much gas on this!  I can't give up now!

[UPDATE]  Day 3 of searching and my search has come to an end.  A wal-mart near me recieved 1 Zune 80 this morning and I snatched it up.  My advice to everyone would be this:  Be Persistent!  Half of the people you're going to call will have no idea what you are talking about.  If they say they have some make sure they can see the physical box and not just the cardboard display.  (It's happened)

They're getting to stores slowly, but surely.  With that being said, keep us all updated!

Out of curiousity, where are you located? Oh, and good luck finding the Zune 80, I'm gonna wait til I can get it personalized.

Southern Illinois.  Carbonale area.  You may be familiar with SIU...but then again probably not.  Thanks for the luck, though.  If I had patience I would wait to get it personalized also.  Luckily for me, I have none.

Same problem here and I'm in Arlington, VA (just outside DC) and I cannot find it anywhere.  I called four nearby Target stores, two Circurit City stores and three BestBuy stores and none are selling the 80g.  What gives?  I thought all models were supposed to be available today.  My music collection is now at 3200 tracks and the 8g just won't do for me, besides I prefer the hard drive based players over flash any day.

Would really love to know what the status on the 80g model is.

I'm closer to huristm actually (I live in MD). I've just heard nearly everyone from everywhere state that they have one of the biggest walmarts ever near them. Just was wondering where you were located because of that.

Personally, I think our local walmarts aren't big compared to others, so I can't brag :(     

haha, i understand that.  There are many different stories as to which wal-mart is bigger.  Last I heard ours was the second or third largest blueprint.  Anyways, I may not try the best buy then since no one else is having any luck.

Just checked with Amazon and they have one instock but I'm holding out because I want one today.  Then I checked Targets site again and they say they won't have any for two to six weeks.

Very disappointing because I dropped my current player (Tishoba Gigabeat) and it only works when plauged in so I've been patiently waiting for the Zune to replace my Gigabeat.  Guess I'll just have to wait a little longer.

Live in Minneapolis, MN. Checked Target, Circuit City, Costco and Best Buy... all of which have 4 and 8's but no 80's. I'm assuming they come out in December like it says on the zuneoriginals.com site.

im on my way to pick up 2 of the 80 gigs i was lucky and circuit city got 5

*sigh.   This is not good.  I'm not angry in the least bit...it's just a little unacceptable.  I'll try the Best Buy.  And then I'll head over to EB games to pick up Assassins Creed and maybe they'll have some.  It's a stretch, but I have to try.   Funny, no one has posted about actually getting a Zune 80.
