Picks: Zune's only truly broken feature?
I love the Zune. All Zune branded products and services are of the highest caliber and match or exceed anything offered by the competition... except Picks. What the heck is up with Picks?

I have used Pandora, Last.FM, and Genius, and all of them have been able to make some interesting recommendations for new things to listen to. Picks, for some reason, has never (and I say never with not a hint of hyperbole) recommended anything that I either do not already own, or hate. I don't get it! MixView works, Smart DJ works, why does the Picks section of the Marketplace seem to be so incompetent when it has the same data at its disposal?

Am I alone in this? Is it just my Picks that suck? Does Picks ever suggest new and interesting things for anyone else? Or are yours too filled with things you already own, or things you would never in a million years enjoy? How can we improve our picks? I've been rating my songs for a year now with no improvement (if anything they've gotten worse.)

Zune team! A vote up, vote down, or "never show me again" system may be in order here! Thoughts?

I wholeheartedly agree, picks have sucked since its inception but they got better with the 4.0 software. It still recommends stuff I have in my collection and is still recommending horrible stuff like Oasis, REM, Coldplay, and Beck (i like some of rem and becks stuff though). I mostly listen to indie/underground rock, electro/synth pop, old school and newer hip hop and 70's reggae.... it hardly ever recommends anything from those genres and just lists mainstream crap. Smart DJ is the best thing to happen to Zune IMO. At least with that I can discover new stuff.

Does the "Picks" show up on the Zune device, or is it software only?

If so, where?
