GET ZUNE number for support... anyone else tried calling the zune folks?

I called the number to try to get some support for my sisters non synching zune and twice now I got a busy message there.

How many  other folks having a problem getting their zunes syched and using their zune passes since 4.0, and are trying to talk with a tech support person from zune?

I used to be able to get to a real person quickly... sigh

meanwhile msoft dumps another 800 workers in the us....  (another issue)

re: GET ZUNE number for support... anyone else tried calling the zune folks?
I too am having problems with syncing my ZUNE... I have followed every direction on both how to fix driver problems and to fix software updates or whatever.  I have uninstalled all the software on both my computer and zune and nothing has worked at all.. My zune just sits there... And since I reformatted my zune as one of the threads suggested I lost all of my music so now it is just a brick.  I am very frustated as I have been a zune pass member since it was created about two years ago, and am about to cancel my account because my zune is worthless.  Whats worse is that it seems to the zune people don't really care.  It has been about two months now since the update, and they offer no real answers to fix this problem and i am not talking about going to go screw with your computer and figure things out.  I am not tech sauvy but I can figure my way around pretty easy, but I thought it was the jobs of these people to identify problems and fix them with software updates.  I did not know it was my responsibility to go in and alter my comuter in order to meet the needs of zune, I thought it was the other way around.  Obviously this is a problem because of all the posts here, not to mention other zune forums..  It has even made an appearance on engadget.com so it isn't an isolated case with just one or two of us.  I am on the verge on buying an ipod now because of all of this.  I would consider a zune hd but I have 60 GB of music more then the largest zune HD... regardless though this problem should have been fixed by now.

For future reference:

second gen 80GB zune
windows vista ultimate
no problems before new update
Now I have driver problems... Computer recognizes zune ask for restart, restart, then the process starts all over again.  If no restart driver shows up with little yellow triangle.  Software does not recognize zune at all.

All other things plugged into usb ports work why wont the zune?

You are unplugging the zune before the computer is restarting right?  ....

Yes, I have literally tried every combination of every activity that discusses this problem and  I have had plenty of time to do it now since I formatted my zune about a week after the update and haven't been able to use it sense.  I think it just stinks though because I know some people aren't having any problems, some people updated to a new zunes, some people haven't plugged in their zunes and some people were smarter than I and didnt format their zunes to fix their problem so they can wait out the storm but I am stuck with a zune that doesn't work and have already paid for the next three months of my zune pass... very disheartening... If it wasn't such a big company that could care less if they lost a zune customer or two it would seem like a pretty decent scam lol...

re: GET ZUNE number for support... anyone else tried calling the zune folks?

I feel your pain.  Since the last patch I haven't been able to sync any video podcasts...and I've done everything listed on the forums...rebooted, reformated, reinitialized, reinstalled...nothing works.  Months, it seems like, since I've been able to get the zune to perform as it once did. I've not been able to get any support via the authorized channels.  I think they are not supporting the Zune30, which is the one I have.  Unfortunately, I puchased it without knowing it was being discontinued.  I got it because it was big enough that I could find it in my bag. Heh.  (Also because I'm a MS shareholder, and wanted to buy MS products.)

I'm thinking it wasn't one of my better purchases however.  I primarily use it as a podcast transport and audio book player, rather than as a music player...and as much as I don't want to give money to the company that gave us institutionalized Ismug, I may have to go with an Apple product, because I've spent too many hours trying to get the Zune to work the way it did before the latest patch.

You would think that MS would be able to put out a product that could seamless download, sync and play things from the Marketplace.  There's no excuse for stopping support of a product that is less than 5 years old, unless they were going to provide a significant discount to upgrade to a supported product.  There's no excuse for a software update that removes functionality or turns 2 year old products into bricks.

The entire experience has left me less than pleased.

re: GET ZUNE number for support... anyone else tried calling the zune folks?
sooooo, I was visiting engadget.com today, as i do most day just to see what technology advancements are being made, and low and behold I see ZUNE makes it on the feed...  It says NEW FIRMWARE!!!.   I got very excited and read on, only to find out out it was just for the HDs and only to fix some small problems like player count problem... WTF??? this is more important to them then fixing the sofware to read ALL old zunes?? or fix the common problems everyone is having with the old ZUNES??  I would love to remain a steadfast zune supporter and get a new HD but they only go up to 32 GB, what else amd I suppose to do with the rest of my stuff?? You know at this point I would be completely satisfied, though disappointed, if MS just say, hey the old zunes our out, these are in and we will no longer support the old zunes, this is capitalism, we are powerful, you are weak, and theres not much you can do about it, except switch to our competitor who does not have a zune pass, or the dozen or so other features zunes are known for having.  I would like that, just to know.... SO that I can crush that last little ray of hope that some MS person out there actually does care about me and my fellow zuners who have bricks now.  But it seems like everyone else is taking priority over the zune veterans, and even if we all threatened to give up our zunes, and actually did, it isn't like microsoft is going to go anywhere.  It is just so disheartening.
