Zune HD will not go into recovery mode

My Zune will NOT go into recovery mode. I hold the power, the shut down tab comes up, it turns off then the zune logo comes on. Then it loads up?!??! While I'm holding the power button? I've tried timing for 15 seconds etc, when does the zune go into recovery exactly? Thanks for any advance

silly me, hold the side button and the power button... everywhere i've read for some reason it's just been the power button!
