I've had my 32GB Zune HD about 5 days now and this has been a problem since I got it. Sometimes it will not connect to WiFi. "Sometimes" is the key word here. There's no commonality to when or where it happens. Right now I am at home with 2 laptops, a PS3, a desktop, iPhone, and Zune 120 all connected to my WiFi connection. Earlier the Zune HD was working fine, right now it just says "Local connection only" over and over again when I try to connect to my network. Later it will most likely work fine. I've tried rebooting it, letting it sit, rebooting my laptop, syncing it. Nothing fixes it, it just fixes itself later. It does this at work, at home, and at public WiFi. I always have another WiFi capable device on me so I know it isn't the networks; and I know it isn't some setting or incompatibility issue because it's transient and location agnostic. It sounds like either a firmware issue or possibly a problem with my unit.
Has anyone else observed this same behavior? Is there a way for MS to gather diagnostic data on this? If this is a problem with my unit so be it, I can return it and get another one. I just want to know if that is the case here or if this is a known issue that is going to be resolved via software; and if so, when.
Thanks.
