I'll give it a shot helping you out ydoesitmatter.. But, you didn't say which dock you have. I only have experience with the V2 dock.. So, any info is based on that..
The Zune 30 as far as I know.. will only work with the composite output of the dock. That is the one on the back that looks like a headphone jack. If you got the AV dock kit it will come with the proper cable that had a red, white and yellow RCA style plug on the other end.
Just plug those RCA connectors into the proper places on your TV, set your Zune 30 in the dock.. and then on the Zune.. Go to the settings menu, click on 'Display' then on 'TV Out:' and click 'OK'
Now.. if you had a Zune 80/120 you can pull the small panel off the back of the dock and uses the component video ports for a bit better picture.
