re: More Than 1/2 music collection not being imported

I have been having trouble with merging albums and especially getting my collection into zune . I have over 12,000 songs and zune only imports 5,570 ..It has been 2 days  monitoring and thats far as it goes. I have removed and replaced  my My music folder   and no matter what i do it will not add my music collection, it ends up on different numbers every t ime...Some  Full albums only show 1 or 2 songs.  I am using win 7 64 bit. I have been using zune for quite  awhile and never had any issues like this. Any help or links would be appreciated.....Thanx

I had the same problems.  What I did was manually drag the folder(s) or audio files from windows explorer to the zune software.  It gets a bit tricky though, you'll have to hover the "drag" over the zune library until the cursor gets a plus sign.

I will try that suggestion ,

and if i cant get that to work i will need to use the reset tool i downloaded and try to import once again.Maybe that will also help with albums no longer being able to merge.

I never knew how many different issues people are having with zune software.....But then again any software has its share of  issues.

Update: I tried your suggestion with no luck. Then i tried the reset tool which helped a little. Now i  got 7200 songs out of 12568...My issue with not being able to merge albums  or drop into anotheer genre was fixed for 20 minutes and now after a couple times using the merge or drag into another genre it no longer works....I think i have given up, i have spent way too much time trying to fix these issues..... the problem is what software can i use to catalog/sync my music. ?

 

 

I have the same issue. I had a hard drive lose the MBR so I reinstalled Windows 7. After the reinstall of  Zune I have not gotten more than 28,000 of my 118,000 songs to show up. The scanning of the music files just stops. Then starts by adding one file. Then stops for hours. I have albums with 10 songs showing one song. That is true for most of my albums. I have used the reset tool twice now. I have had my pc running for 5 days straight and during the 5 days it has scanned from 12,000 to 28,000 quite a bit short from the 118,000. So at this rate I will have my songs completely scanning in 28.5 days? Wow....
