History display
I just bought a Zund-HD to replace and older Zune.  At this point I am not sure I did the right thing. :(

One of the things I've noticed in the latest software for the Zune is the 'history display' on the main screen.  This I DO NOT LIKE AT ALL.  One of the main things I use my Zune is a portable photo album.  Unlike other devices, I can 'organize' my photos and that is one reason I bought the Zune.

I like the organization (read folders) function because some of the photos are not necessarily for public consumption and the last thing I want on the home screen in the 'history' is a picture taken for my private use.

So bottom line question.  This seems to be a part of the "Quickplay" and I do not want to use this feature.  So is there a way to turn it off or at least to NOT DISPLAY the HISTORY?  I think I am smart enough to know what I just put on my Zune or to know the last thing I last accessed.

Many thanks.

Open the software, click settings, then software, then 'general' on the left side.  You can pick your default start up screen here.

re: History display
Thanks, I have that set to 'collection', but I am not sure when I set it that way.  As I have to do some major rework on folders I want in my collection (issue in another post, but I basically erased the folders on the hard drive I used for syncing to the Zune) so until I know I can 'sync' the Zune and not lose anything else then I'm not going to see if this will fix the Zune display just yet.

It's unrelated.  All it does it set which page the software opens first.  But if you erased folders with content on your PC, be careful about connecting the device.  change to manual sync, or 'forget this device' first... unless you have some other means to recover lost content besides reverse sync'ing from the zune.
