Found a Content Error? Here's how to let us know!

Hi folks- many of you have reported content errors, such as album or track titles being incorrect, error in track lengths, incorrect album art, artist information and the like. We've set up a way for you to report such issues to the Zune team easily.

Please visit http://connect.microsoft.com/Zune/Feedback to access the Zune Connect portal. You can search for existing reports to see if anyone else has already reported the same issue or submit a new report if you found something in our catalog that is not yet reported.

In order to submit a report you'll need to sign in with your Windows Live ID and create a profile on Microsoft Connect, which only takes a couple of minutes. Click the "Your Profile" link in the upper right of the Connect site to create or update your Connect profile. Once you've done that you can submit a content error report by clicking "Submit Feedback" from the link above and then clicking the "Zune Catalog" link.

Please only submit actual catalog errors via the Zune Catalog form. We cannot respond to any other errors or issues submitted via this means. Inappropriately submitted reports will be closed without any response.

Other content issues or questions regarding them should be posted in this forum. Also, submitting such errors using Connect is purely optional (although it would help us out)- if you post catalog errors here in the Content Issues forum they will still be looked into.

Thank you and thanks for using Zune!

Should we still post errors in this section as well?

re: Found a Content Error? Here's how to let us know!

You can post content issues here as well, of course- the Connect form is intended to be another means to report errors. The forum mods who work in this section are diligent about following up but because of the way a forum works sometimes those loops don't get closed.

Another reason behind using the Connect portal is that you can search for existing content errors before reporting one. That makes it less likely we'll get multiple reports of the same issue.

Please feel free to use either means. :)

BAD SOUND QUALITY!!!
I've used several of my credits to purchase songs that were less than acceptable quality.. A lot of the songs I've purchased are only 192kbps.. That is ridiculous.. 192kbps?? Really?? The standard should be at least 320kbps.. It's very disappointing.. I would rather buy the CD than download crummy songs from zune anymore.. People with any sense would do the same.. 192kbps was so 5 or 6 years ago.. Get in the now, people want good quality songs since hard drive space isn't an issue anymore with 1tera even 2terabyte hard drives.. I mean you should really update.. Who cares about download speed when most people have highspeed internet connections and would rather have quality over quantity any day... I think that the zune team should really consider at a minimum start offering songs at 320kbps.. Or even create a setting where the individual can pick his or her own bit rate at which to download at inside marketplace.. Charge something like 50 cents for 128kbps, 75 cents for 192kbps, and 99 cents for 320kbps, and let the customer choose... Just a suggestion.... I will be more careful in the future not to download songs that are sub-par.. I'm sure there is a lot of people who feel this way, but don't have the time or patience to find this forum to discuss this matter... Thank you for your time..

re: BAD SOUND QUALITY!!!
catsmuzik, you replied to a thread you probably shouldn't have -- heck, it should it be locked; off topic?

All MP3 unprotected content is 320 kbps or, less often, 256 kbps.  Any protected content is 192 kbps, which is the highest CBR bitrate used for WMA.  All content is offered in unprotected MP3 for purchase if the provider allows it.  Stick to tracks marked as MP3 if you can.

The quality should be nearly identical; don't get hung up on bitrates; both formats are at their point of diminishing returns on quality.  Now, if you find actual problems with content, report it here.  FYI: Modern recordings are often poorly produced and clipped, even on the original CD.

Oops...didn't see this before I made my triumphant return of reporting errors. What do I put under content title?

re: Found a Content Error? Here's how to let us know!

Im getting a 500 error when trying to access my Connection Profile and there is no submit link. So, if its acceptable, ill submit the catalog error here:

http://social.zune.net/search/gameface

The artist Gameface has an album by some rapper named "Jay-R" not related.

thanks

Here's one I just found....

I was updating the Album Info on Chron Gen's "The Best of Chron Gen" in my collection and the info is wrong...

Track 12 "You'll Never Change Me" was left out, leaving every track after that with the wrong track number.. and the track Ripper (Live) was listed twice in a row.

Here is the correct track listing.

1. Puppets of War
2. Mindless Few
3. Lies
4. Chron Gen
5. Reality
6. Subway Sadist
7. Jet Boy, Jet Girl
8. Clouded Eyes
9. Hounds of the Night
10. LSD
11. You Make Me Spew
12. You'll Never Change Me
13. Rocka Bill
14. Friends Tell Me Lies
15. Living Next Door To Alice
16. Outlaw
17. Behind Closed Doors
18. Disco Tech'
19. Too Much Talk
20. Misadventure
21. Breakdown
22. Pretend
23. Fiasco
24. Pictures Paint Minds
25. Abortions (Live)
26. Ripper (Live)

re: Found a Content Error? Here's how to let us know!
~Help!~

I think something's wrong with the search engine in the new software, (was the old stuff like this too?) I am unable to use the search bar to search for movies or TV shows, this really needs to get fixed cause it's hard to find what you're looking for without search. It works fine for music, but when I look for a movie it won't find it. Overall, I'm really like the software otherwise, but do I have to re-install the software now? I mean I went to marketplace->Videos & saw "30 Rock" on the front page so I typed it in search & got nothing for videos, ect. just a bunch of music that wasn't related to the show either.

Plz let me know what I'm doing wrong here so I can keep enjoying my Zune :D
