[PETITION] UNICODE font support for the non-HD Zune [for the next FW 3.3?]
I know that Zune HD will support the unicode font, and was hoping for the original zune to support them too..
After updating to the firmware 3.2 today, I was dissapointed. My asian songs still display with the square box
[][][][][][][][]
[][][][][]
[][][][][][]
[][][][][]

And there's lots of them,,

Please Zune team, Please...
Bring unicode to the original Zune.

PS.Thank you so much for your hard work in bringing new Zune Software experience to us, it is really nice.

which asian language?
 
The software is showing mine but yeah the player doesn't show it.
 
but then again I have support for the asian languages on my computer

Wow.  this really sucks.  I was in high hopes for the new firmware to bring unicode support for the older models, and why the heck is it so difficult for the zune team to add that simple feature?  I've been a zune owner since day 1 with a zune 30, and almost 3 years of waiting for such a simple feature has been useless.  Disappointed.

Korean zune user here, and I am too quite disappointed with the 3.2 update.
since I knew that Zune HD's gonna support unicode, I really had my hopes up that the previous gens were finally gonna get unicode support too....

but there was nothing!!
no unicode, and absolutely nothing new for the previous gen devices.

and the zune PC software still displays fugly Gulim font instead of segoe UI in parts of softwares in Korean locale...

I can understand about Zune HD not being simultaneously released worldwide, you guys have complicated marketing stuff etc... but software!! is it so hard to add some one or two fonts to the device for asian letters to display?! -_-;;


Please, Microsoft, show your loyalty to older customers this time as well.. just like you did and impressed us for the last 3 years.

Same problem here.I was thinking that 3.2 might come with unicode support like HD but sadly not.

Anyway I hope you guys at Zune team consider our pettition here to improve for the next device update :)

Nope, still no unicode :(

Also, please use Meiryo or Meiryo UI for the PC software.

Unicode support for all Zunes please.

Anyway, yeah, hell, the 360 can display it! why is it so hard to give this to us!

This was probably the biggest disappointment ever for me in regards to the Zune. I was so excited to hear unicode would be included in the next update that I ordered 1 day shipping return after sending my Zune to a repair shop after mistakingly pushing it off the counter while drinking in the dark 1.5 weeks ago. Update comes around and I still see squares and I'm like WTF?! Then I read it's only for the the HD. Now I'm not one of the original 30 gig buyers, but I did buy the Zune 80 on day 1. I really don't see why older versions of Zune cannot support unicode hardware wise because 1) It's a font and 2) Before the 3.x firmware it was possible w/ some modifying of the software to install unicode onto the Zune. And right now that is the only incentive for me moving over to Zune HD, and considering my family's movie collection and my music collection take up 45 gigs, I don't want to have to filter to get everything fit nicely into 32 gig. Considering the majority of my music was bought while living in Tokyo and most of it with unicode, even some of the Roman character titled songs in unicode, it's extremely frustrating to have waited for 2 years for the problem to be solved only to be screwed because I supported the Zune team early on. Like really, let's not pull an Apple here and leave customers in the dust after releasing a new iPod a year later with a new firmware while the old one gets nothing new.
