Zune 120 Driver Updating problem
I have searched a lot of places, and most issues with the driver updating is not exactly like my issue.

After the 4.0 update (Which I had no idea about until today) was finished, I tried to connect my Zune afterwards.  My computer was scanning it as a new device, said it was updated, and the computer needed to be restarted to fully finish the update.  I was acknowledged that, closed down things, and hit the "Restart Now" on the window the prompted me to do so.  After my computer restarted and every thing finished doing its boot up, I reopened the Zune 4.0 software, and my computer, yet again, detected a new device, the device being my Zune.   Then, said the drivers were updated, and the computer needed to be restarted, yet again.

I figured that there was something wrong, but I yet again, restarted my computer, and after I got it all booted up, I then again opened up the 4.0 Zune Software, and it, you guessed it, scanned in the "new" device, updated it, and asked me to restart.

Call my crazy, but I am sure that my Zune Drivers do not need to be updated more than twice, if not once. I have manually gone to the Device manager and I saw a little yellow, I will call caution sign, with the "!" in it.  I opened it, and I read what it had to tell me, saying the the Driver is up-to date, but needs to be reinstalled to finish the update.  I ignored that, and opened up clicked the Reinstall button, and when it prompted me to Automatically update, or Manually, I chose Manually.  I directed my computer to the folder "C:\Program files\Zune\Drivers\Zune"  Where, it said my device was update and it prompted me, yet again, to restart my computer.  Thinking it would work this time, I yet again, opened up the Zune Software it long behold, it scanned in my new device, updated it, and asked me to yet again, restart my computer.

I am really in some sort of pickle.  I am not sure what to do.  I don't know if the 4.0 update doesn't get along with my Zune120, or my Zune is just being dumb, which is unlikely.  My 120, and my 1stGen Zune 30 has both worked flawlessly "Except my Zune 30 when the "Zune2K was upon us!"  My Zune120 Still works as it did before.  As far as I can tell that is.  This is also the first time I have really had my Zune interact with the Zune Software for sometime.  From what I have gathered the last zune firmware version was 3.2, while mine is still on 3.1.  That might have something to do with it, but I would be surprised if it did.

I am running Windows Vista Basic.(I know its terrible isn't it?)  If any more information is needed to help me, I can supply what I know.

I hope to get this fixed soon.  I just got my order of Flow Albums and I would like to get them on my Zune pronto.  Thanks for any help/suggestions you have to offer.

w8 sorry, if you read my earlier post, disregard as I read your post wrong

anyways, given that your computer needs to restart to be compatible with a Zune 120, but the thing never works, I'm guessing it's a problem with your registry files...

which may indicate an issue somewhat unrelated to your Zune software....

not sure, just wait till someone more knowledgeable comes along - I don't know much about these things

re: Zune 120 Driver Updating problem
I kinda had the same problem where it wouldn't sync to my comp or the Zune software. It even told me to update when I did it before many times in an endless loop. I had that same yellow exclamation in the device manager and kept getting a code 10/Code18 every time. Do this to see if it helps.

1.Make sure your zune isnt plugged in and the zune software is off
2.Go to Start/Control Panel/Add or Remove programs
3.Look for something called LiB-Win32 USB or Lib-USB32-Win and delete it from your computer. I can't remember the exact name but it should start with the LiB and have a 32, USB & Win in the title of the program. This for some reason kept preventing my Zune from syncing with the computer and kept making me uninstall and reinstall/Update the Zune.
4.Make sure the LiB program is uninstalled by checking the Add/Remove Programs section and double checking
5.Open up your Zune software and wait for it to load.
6.Connect your Zune to the computer using the back USB hub  in the back.
7.Hopefully your Zune connects to the comp and Starts to update/reprogram your zune after connecting it.

Yeah i had to go through a lot of steps and finally with help found out how to fix it and get it back up and running. Hopefully this helps you dude because it really sucked to have a $250 paperweight. Good luck dude

re: Zune 120 Driver Updating problem
There is no file or program called "Lib-win32" or any thing like that.

I did how ever try to connect to the back of my computer, update the driver and see if that helped, but it is doing the same thing "Update, reboot, update, reboot etc"

This is kind of an annoying loop hole I am in.
