Software can't find my Zune

I downloaded the Zune Software 4.0, but my zune can't connect to it. I plugged it in to my computer and it began charging as usual, but it doesn't say "connected" on either the device or the software. It's a Zune 120.

how do i fix this problem? restarting my computer didnt help...

OK, now when I plug my Zune into the computer, the zune software opens up but it still says "no zune connected" ..i've tried doing the things it said in that article.. =/
