Zune HD chat
I think it would be cool if there was instant messaging intergrated into the Zune HD and you could chat with your friends that have Zune HD's anywhere that you can use a wi-fi hotspot.

yeah, thats what i want too!!! i hope they can implement this feature through a firmware update, if it isnt a feature already on the Zune HD!

I wouldn't count on seeing too many people walk around with Zune HDs. This wont be an omnipresent product like Nintendo DS. It would be pretty awesome, though, if it had an integrated MSN, or something like that, so you could chat with people who don't have a Zune too.
Obviously, that would mean you could still chat with other people who have a Zune as well.

You got a point, there would be no point in an exclusive messaging service for Zune users. It would need to cut in the the market significantly to build it's base( no fun in talking to the same Zune users). Most messenger providers like AIM let you login thru the browser to chat with out installing, but without flash support on the HD for now that's gonna suck. Now if the rumored Zune App store comes about I'm pretty sure MS will provided a bundle set of apps for the Zune including Windows Live Messenger to solve that problem.

they should put myspace aim yahoo messenger and msn messenger  and a better webrowser like the itouch

My windows mobile phone has an app called "instant messaging" that allows me to chat within AIM/iChat, MSN/Windows Live Messenger, MySpaceIM, Yahoo!, ICQ, Jabber, Google Talk and Facebook regardless of location and mobile operator.

When the Zune operating system merges with Windows mobile all these types of apps will be available.  I believe that is the big picture plan.

I think that would be really awesome!!!! Ms should really look at trying to do that. It wouldn't be hard at all.
