Can't View Zune Playlists on Xbox 360

I have this weird problem with my media sharing on my 360.  I can view Albums, Artists, Songs and Genres, but not my Saved Playlists.  This hasn't always been the case, but for some reason I can't do it anymore.  I have cut on and off sharing, and disconnected and reconnected the Zune software from the 360 but still no luck.  I am completely lost on this.  Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

Oh btw when I select Saved Playlists its says:

The connection to your computer was lost. Make sure your computer is turned on, connected to your network, and is running media sharing software.

Same problem here.  The playlists all show up on my 360 menu but if you select one to play it will spin its wheels for a while and then say "no songs found."  If I navigate to the Songs list, it will also say "no songs found" even though there are thousands and I can play them all if I navigate to them through some other menu (like Artist, or Album, or Genre).

Like you, this is also a recent thing.  It hasn't always been doing this.  Two major things have changed since I last navigated 360 playlists without error:  a) Vista SP2 update, and b) Zune software update.  I wonder if either of these are to blame?

I'm not specifically sure about playlists but I do know that your music will not show up on your Xbox 360 unless it is in the right folder.  On the computer you can add music to your Zune device by from any folder it is saved in by just dragging it into the Zune software window.  It will sync with your Zune device but the music will not appear on your Xbox 360 unless it is in one of the designated folders, even when showing in the Zune software on your computer.  The Default folder for this is: C:\Users\"You"\Music\Zune.  But you can designate other folders also.

I'm having the exact same problem.  I had alway's been able to use playlists, and Media Player still plays them through the 360.  I am unable to see the Zune playlists, I just always see the "The connection to your computer was lost. Make sure your computer is turned on, connected to your network, and is running media sharing software" message.  Zune Team!  SkipDees! Help!

I am also having the same problem.  I've always streamed my playlists while gaming and as of today I can no longer access them.  I get the same error message and everything, and only for my playlists.  I don't understand why we can't message Zune/MS directly, hopefully they will actually see and do something about this thread.  This is very frustrating.

I am having the same issue.  I'm pretty sure this showed up after the last dashboard update, because I had streamed from a playlist shortly before that update.  I can play artists and albums but get the same message.  I am running Vista and all of my music and playlist or stored on an external hard drive that is designated as my storage device in a folder title L:/Music/Zune.  It does find videos, music, photos, but no playlists.

My problem came about after I installed Windows 7.  I don't know if that's related or not.  I hope not, seeing as how Win7 has been an otherwise seemless installation....

My problem is not from my Zune or playing music, it is from viewing and playing from playlist that are stored on my hard drive.  I can play songs, albums ,and artists but no playlists.

re: Can't View Zune Playlists on Xbox 360

I just want to clarify this problem is with connecting to my zune playlists from my PC.  I can connect to my zune fine.  I can also connect to media center and media player without an issue.  I can play songs, videos, everything but my playlists.  That's where it immediately tells me the connection is lost without even searching for one.  I'm about to uninstall zune 4.0 and reinstall it to see if that does anything.  It worked fine on Vista, but I cannot get it to connect to these playlists on Win7.

I've said most all of this before, I just wanted to make sure we were all discussing the same issue on here.

re: Can't View Zune Playlists on Xbox 360

Ok, after having just posted exactly what the problem was, I fixed it.  I disabled every conceivable sharing option I had available on Win7 and saved them.  Then I went back and enabled all of them all over again.  And now I can connect to my playlists.

I hope this helps all you guys out.
