Longest Scream?
Alright, so I was recently told by a friend that Dimmu Borgir currently holds the record for longest scream in a song. The song is Eradication Instincts Defined, and the scream clocks in at about 17 seconds. I'm totally a fan of Dimmu and everything, but I highly doubt this is true. I'm absolutely positive that some other band has beaten this. So my challenge to you is to find me a song with a longer scream. I was also told that they hold the record for fastest drum beat, thanks to Hellhammer in The Chosen Legacy, but I'm not even going to start in on that one.

Oh yes, that's exactly what I need right now! A big freaking mushroom!!

Braindrill has some pretty fast drum beats (and in another note, really insane bass playing, with a 7string). I'll keep an ear out for long screams, but I can't think of any off the top of me head.

Braindrill is pretty freaking cool, I listened to them a while back when I heard about their 7-string bassist. That's some technical ***.

I can scream longer than 17 seconds, so I'm sure there is longer out there. "So Frail" by Mirrorthrone has an opening scream of 17 seconds as well.

Exactly what I was thinking. I'm a vocalist myself, and my low screams can't be held very long, but I know with my highs, I can hold them for a very, VERY long time, well over 17 seconds. Hell, if that's the "world record", someone call Guiness, because I have a record to beat.

There is some NITRO song that has a 32 second scream. They really suck at music but they have the longest scream and the fastest guitar player.

Maynard James Keenan of Tool screams for 25 seconds (6:58-7:23) in The Grudge, first track off of Lateralus. That's the longest one I know of.

Rob Halford has a long one in Painkiller, but it's certainly not 17 seconds.

I've got a yell by Infernaeon that is about 31 as I count. The song is 'Sleeping God' off of 'A Symphony of Suffering'. It's available on the zune software.

Yea, I'm thinking Maynard has the honors for this one, mostly because i trust Tool's musical integrity, as in they would not splice a scream in protools (which is hella easy i may add) for as long as they wanted. I'm guessing that's what many bands do, as in they just edit in the uberscream.
