Find Album Info making it so Zune does not recognize artist.
I did find album info recently for a bunch of my albums and as I listened to them it did not add the plays to the artist. Also when I go to the zune marketplace it does not say that the songs are in my collection.

Can anyone help me with this?

re: Find Album Info making it so Zune does not recognize artist.
Things to try based on my experiences:

1) Try find album again I know sometimes I have had to do it 3 times to get them to match.

2) Right click on the album cover in the Zune software and see if you have 'more about this album' in the pulldown menu. If not like I said before try the find album again. If it does appear as an option click it and see if when the album page comes up if it says 'in collection' or not. Sometimes this seems to fix the issue if for some reason it was saying 'download' or whatever before. If it says 'download' or something else try 'find album' again. The 'more about this album' came up so the album data seems to be matching up but the songs aren't and 'find album' works most of the time to fix it.

3) Check the 'all' on an artists album page there may be more then one copy listed and sometimes I have noticed I am not able to get the album to match either then it seems to be simply a database issue that I haven't found a way to get around yet. Have had that problem with a few pre-2000 releases for one reason or another.

4) I know it is suppose to work the same way but you may want to try putting the tracks in a Windows Media Player play list and try it's Find Album info engine too.

I know my suggestions are like shooting dice but unfortunately sometimes it takes a lot of work to match the data up. I rarely do beyond step 2 myself because I don't really care but I try and match the data as much as possible so my profile isn't to out of whack with its totals.

Ok, well that doesn't seem to be working. When you do find album info does it take time to do all that cause whenever I do that with any of my albums that have the "more about this album" option it ruins them.

Ok, nevermind I figured it out. A few weeks ago I turned off the feature that puts in the album info for you. I re clicked that option and all the albums that were screwed up now have the "more about this album" option. Thank you for your help.

I actually just bought a cd. I uploaded it to the software, did Find Info, but it didn't recognize it even though I found it in the Marketplace and the band's social page. So I just manually changed the info, but it still doesn't recognize it.

Is it a recent release? The 'Find Album Info' if it isn't a big name release, like say the Slayer that came out today was in the Find Album Info about a week early, can take a week or more to be added to that database which is run separate from Marketplace. I am still waiting 6 months later for Lay Down Rotten' newest release to be added to the database though it is in the Marketplace.

Did you edit the information in the ripper or in the software? Trying to match metadata manually can be tricky. I have had better success using the software but using a meta editor has a better chance to working. Their is a bunch of programs out there the forums has lots of suggestions.
