C101001C can't retrieve the computer name

I can log into My Social jsut fine.  Undable to log into Marketplace. 

Getting error code C101001C can't retrieve the computer name

I have been working on this all day today.  I noticed that the Zun site was offline for maint. eariler this afternoon.

I am now on hold waiting for second level support with MS to answer the phone.

I will post whatever I find out.  The search of this error code did not come up with anything for the 1st level tech.  We walked through the required basic troubleshooting steps.

I have Zune on 2 Computers ... the upgrade worked fine on my laptop running XP but my PC running Windows 7 RC is where I get that error. What operating system are you all running? Not sure if it's a Win 7 issue.

I tried to rename the PC so it could think it's another machine but I still get that same error.

From my XP Laptop, I can see the name of my PC running Win 7 RC in Zune. Hope these guys fix this soon.

I made it up to 2nd level support after all of the typical support questions.
2nd level doesn't have any information on the error code either.
They have passed the ticket up to development.

I am going to try working with my 2 other pcs today.
I'm going to trying a capture in my firewall to see if it is a communication issue.

I found the install file for 3.0.  I unzooned my laptop and then installed the older version.

I was able to log in through the software without any issue.  However, there is a message up that the Marketplace is temporarily unavailable.

Make sure if you call MS for support that you get your ticket number.

Could I get the following info from everyone seeing this C101001C error?

 

Windows Account Type: (Guest/Limited/Admin, On domain, Not on domain)

OS Version (XP, Vista, win7, Home/Pro, etc.)

Hardware Info: Processor type, brand, etc. Video card brand /model, Motherboard if you know, etc.

 

As much info as possible would be help us in tracking this down. If you can run the command systeminfo.exe from a command line and post the output (PM me the info if you don't want to post it publically, just mention C101001C in the subject line).
