re: Who cant you stand (in music)

I'm not sure if this is the only post on this subject but feel free to rant on that artist you really don't like, give a reason if possible

I am sorry if i upset anyone witch this probably will.I can't stand lil wayne,my friends like him and i know a lot of people do,i just don't like the lil guy even tho i do like the cover framing hanely did of lollipop that jam is bangin.

i agree and what is with him trying to cross over to rock?   all he did was put in a guitar his voice sounds exactly the same

omg i agree on the little wayne thing hes so popular and its too bad cuz al the music i like none of the guys like except some of my good friends that are metalheads but all the music i like is dissapearing except metallica

Can't really comment on Lil Wayne, because I have never heard any of his music; but I do have a general problem with some of the newer rock/alternative music that is being played on the radio, at least on 107.7 in Seattle.  I know I am going to sound like an old man, complaining about how what the kids are listening today is garbage; but I really dislike popular music right now.  In terms of popular rock stuff everything sounds so wussified, there is nothing that has any real edge to it.  When I was a teenager popular radio rock was NIN, Marilyn Manson, Nirvana, Rage Against the Machine, and other similar bands.  Now whenever I turn on the radio  it is stuff like Kings of Leon, Paramore, and MGMT, which just feels so safe and generic.  To me Paramore sounds like what a rock band would sound like if created by the Mickey Mouse Club.  

Anyway, not meaning to insult anyone if they like this stuff, to each their own.  It is likely more to do with the popular music being for a different generation than myself.

Amen brother. Paramore sucks mega ding-dong. Anyhow, the people that are bugging me most in the music industry today are tweeny-bopper type bands like the Jonas Brothers, or Hanna Montana/Miley Cyrus. They have absolutely NO talent whatsoever. Also, rappers who talk about nothing but what are, in my mind, the fundamental elements of rap today. They are, Strippers, Money, and Drugs. That's about all that you'll find in most rap these days. I guess that they just don't make music with any thought in it anymore.

Disney probably has a label because it makes money hand over fist with it.  I may be wrong; but I think I remember hearing that out of all of the different record labels out there Disney was pretty high in their earnings. 

Also, any of those tweeny music groups really have less to do with the music and more to do with the packaging.  Those types of groups will always be around and when one goes down another will take its place.  Just over the past couple of decades there has been Menudo, New Kids on the Block, Kriss Kross, & Hanson and all have been practically forgotten once their fans become mature enough to realize it is disposable garbage.  All and all I think it is all crap; but it really doesn't bother me, it is marketed to teenage girls and it is relatively easy to never have to listen to.  I actually don't think I have ever actually heard a Jonas Bros., Hanana Montana, or High school musical song.
