Auto-Playlist Sync Bug
Auto-Playlists won't sync all the time, every time. I just completed a sync. It took off all my auto-playlists, but apparently forgot to put them back on.

Here is a screen shot of my auto-playlists on my computer | Here is a picture of my Zune's Playlist section

It doesn't do this every time. But it's not the first time it forgets to add back the auto-playlists. I have to go back, plug in (re plug in, because of another bug where the software doesn't immediately detect the Zune) and sync again, and hopefully this time they show up after a complete sync.

This sync issue may be annoying when you're rushing out the door, believing "Device is up to date", and you have no auto-playlists to keep one's company on the road.

re: Auto-Playlist Sync Bug
Richard, I just noticed this as well. I'm guessing you have your device in sync all music mode? To workaround, I drag and dropped the playlists in question to my device (even though I shouldn't have to in sync all mode), and they seem to be syncing fine now. I'm going to try to reproduce this bug in house and get a bug filed. Thanks for your help.

Thank you for your reply. And yes, I sync all my media. Having to drag is kind of a pain, but I guess it will have to do for now.

re: Auto-Playlist Sync Bug

Hey guys, I have have this problem too.  It doesn't seem it matter if I drop or right click sync with.  Its a crap shoot if it actually syncs the playlist.  You just have to check it after you disconnect it.  I think they should look in to this quickly.  Any reply from Zune support on this?

Having the same issue.

Last night I deleted all my playlists from the device and resync'd them.  After a few hours (I have a lot of lists) I verified through the software and on the device that all the lists were sync'd (they were).

This morning, I restarted the Zune app (for giggles).  It automatically updated some of my Smart DJ playlists.  I verified that the sync was complete on the device, and unhooked it.  Since I was on my way to work time was an issue but I noticed that all of my Autoplaylists were gone again.

It seems like if I explicitly sync a playlists it's fine.  But when I perform a different sync operation (at least an update of Smart DJ or another auto playlist, but I believe it happens when I try to sync just an album as well) and DON'T then explicitly resync the playlist it won't show on my device, even after displaying the sync complete message.

Are you guys seeing this as the playlists not on the device at all, or they are there but with 0 songs? I have seen the latter issue, wondering if yours is the same.

re: Auto-Playlist Sync Bug
Yes, the playlist is there, but with 0 songs.  I sync'd again when I came home from work and all the playlists were there (it worked correctly).

I restarted my zune software, and waited for the sync to finish and all of my playlists were saved to the device correctly (still).

So I refreshed one of my Smart DJ playlists, waited for the sync complete message to show and when I unplugged the device the playlists were gone again (listed but showing zero tracks).  I think it may have something to do with the fact that not all the downloads for the new list were finished, but I still got the sync complete message, maybe I got that message in error?  I usually leave my software running (unless there is an issue and I feel like I need to restart) so everything that was going to download (having that podcast issue where old episodes continually try to download) was already downloaded by the time I sync'd the first time this evening.  The second time, since I had JUST refreshed the list with my device connected, everything did not finish downloading before I started the sync.

Then, I unplugged the device, refreshed a playlist, waited for all the content to download, AND THEN plugged my device in and it worked as expected.

I hope all that helps you track down the issue....

re: Auto-Playlist Sync Bug
I'm also experiencing an issue with my Auto Playlists syncing to my Zune HD but when I try to view it on the device it says it has "0 Songs". Oddly enough, the software says the playlist on the device is the same.
