Zune Pass Content on 360.
Forgive me for double posting, if this is else ware, yadda yadda yadda. Please move it to the proper thread if need be.

BUT, im having an issue here and would like someone, anyone to shed some light.

I have a zune (duh), an xbox 360 (read the title), Zune Pass, and running the Newest Zune Software.

Now, my problem is, Some of my content is not playing via the stream to the xbox360. Now, is this normal, did something change?
i have no clue, and its bothering me. So if someone could shed some light.

I cant play some songs via the stream and i think its only my zune pass content.
But if i hook up my zune directly, it plays all the content fine. (-.-)

Someone, Anyone.

Thx in Advanced.

Welp, i did narrow it down, and again for double posting, my apologies in advanced.

All my zune pass content wont play on the xbox360 stream.
Excuse me, but, Wtf?

Anyone care to explain why the h3LL not?
paying 15$ a month, id like to enjoy the luxury of streaming my content on my MS built products.
Preferably a Zune rep or something.

I am having the same thing happen to me. I assumed it had something to do with the digital rights or something. Please let me know if we should be able to do this. Because if so, I can't.

Thanks

Re: re: Zune Pass Content on 360.
I don't think you can stream Zune Pass songs because of DRM issues, but I think download-to-own songs (the 10 mp3s you keep each month or songs you paid for individually as long as there's no DRM) should work. I'm not exactly the right person for advice on this tho since I live in Canada and can't use Zune Pass. What I would really like is a Zune-dedicated app on the Xbox like there is for Windows Media Center where we get a Zune software-like display and can stream all our Zune content to our Xbox in a more organized way than it's currently done right now.

I thought the zune pass worked with the xbox??  I can't figure it out but why wouldn't MS let me log into my zune pass via my xbox?

If this is possible, tips on how to do this would be great.  I can connect to a zune folder with my xbox, but it is only the media on my hard drive, with kind of a crude interface compared to the zune app on my computer.

re: Re: re: Zune Pass Content on 360.

I do this all the time, I didn't try it yesterday, but this was working for me 2 days ago, no problems.  My only complaint is that it takes *forever* (ok, somewhere between 1-2 minutes) to load up a playlist.  I haven't tried a playlist that doesn't contain any ZunePass content to see if it's any faster, my theory is that it would be because it's my theory that the Xbox is verifying the license in a very inefficient manner on an ZunePass content, and some of these playlists I have are > 70% ZunePass content.

no it does not. Zune Pass content has DRM on it that limits it to Zune devices you are registered with and your Zune software and makes the song expire when your subscription ends. Any unprotected file types supported by the Xbox 360 (mp3, wma, aac, and maybe more I can't think of right now) should play fine. You never know, there could be a chance the Xbox will be updated to allow playback on Zune Pass music which would be a very smart decision, but there's nothing like that right now.

Some are saying it does work, others are saying zune pass marketplace content does not work with xbox???

If I am allowed to use my zune software on different PCs (although not at the same time for marketplace content), why would I be able to use the Xbox to stream zune software in all it's glory?  I can't think of a more natural tie in.

I suppose the easy solution is to hook the zune to the xbox and play what I want from there, but a cool on screen experience of the zune software via the Xbox would be very cool.

re: Zune Pass Content on 360.
It works fine for me, but you need to make sure that you've enabled sharing with the Xbox 360 and also that when you select your computer from the list, you select the item with the Zune logo on it. Also, it seems that you have to give either the 360 or Zune software a couple minutes after adding content (like saving a Smart DJ playlist) before you can stream it. My 360 will see some songs, but not give them a length, and so it won't play them. I don't know if the Zune software has to approve them in the library for streaming (perhaps marking them with some sort of DRM signature), but you have to give it a couple minutes (which is pretty frustrating, admittedly).

Download some songs, go make some coffee, turn on your 360 and give it a whirl.

it works with my xbox, you need to make sure on the Zune software settings you enable 360 sharing
