Headphones

Ok Ive had my zune for a year and a month, and its been great for all of that time.  Recently though Ive gone through 4 pairs of headphones, at first I thought it was because they were getting worn and being cheap, but just tonight I bought a pair of sony headphones, really nice too, and I tested them out and they still only played ont the right earphone.  If I press down a little on the male jack, they both come on.  Is there a problem with the female jack and can I send in my zune to be repair for it?

I had the standard headphone for over a yr then i called zune if they could send me a new set since my dog ate part of it. those worked fine till i got my zune hd for some odd reason the right side completely stopped working for both the old zune and new zune headphones, but in the 80gig i gave to my mom the new ones work fine im going to call microsoft, but i was wondering if i could get the premium ones since those lasted way longer then the new ones

I have both headphones, and I'm puzzled about the Zune premium headphones. They are louder, but the bass is significantly lower than that of the ones that came with my zune 8 gb. I thought it was the ear buds, so I adjusted the size, but the bass is still weaker. I just don't get it
