New to Podcasts and the Zune HD
I have never listened to a podcast before, but I would like to.  Our school district does them, and my church puts up our pastor's messages.  I am clueless, however, on how to go about syncing these to my Zune HD.

I have three options for getting the church messages, iTunes, Download, or stream.  I tried the download option, and it shows up on my Playlist menu, but when I drag and drop it in my Zune, then sync, the little Zune icon never shows up and it's not on my device.

I tried the iTunes option, but I've never gotten along well with iTunes and I don't know what to do once I find the file on there.

The instructions on Zune.net say to copy the URL after clicking the RSS feed button, but there's no RSS feed button on our church page.

If anyone has any suggestions, I would appreciate them very much. I am pasting a link to our church's message page below for reference.  Thank you!

re: New to Podcasts and the Zune HD
To subscribe (which means the zune software can download & sync episodes for you automatically)  you need the RSS feed.  Perhaps someone at the church can provide this...but you are right, you cannot get to it from the site link you posted.
Your next option is to download episodes manually and put them into the \podcasts subfolder in your zune folder (open the software, click settings, then collection.  You should see the monitored folders above, and the zune folders just below that.)  If that sub-folder doesn't exist, you can create it (but if you have any podcast subscriptions, it will be there.  Create a folder inside that one- like \Calvary- and put the episodes there.
You will then see them in the correct location in the zune software, and you can probably set the sync settings to your preferences by clicking 'series settings' with the Calvary podcast selected.  But, you will have to manually download episodes, and manually delete them from that folder when you no longer want them.
Suggest to your church that while many folks have iPods and therefore use iTunes, not everybody does...!  It is easy for them to provide the RSS feed on their site, plus if they submit it to MS, the zune marketplace will carry it as well.

(If you search on Calvary in the zune software now, you will see 43 Calvary podcasts already carried.)

Thank you, Mike.  I will try that the first chance I get!

Mike,
I tried your suggestion, but the podcast folder I created still doesn't show up in my Collection. Any other ideas?

Thanks!

Ok, it showed up under "New" when I turned on my HD.  Strange...and I found it under my Music, Unknown Artist section.  Oh well, at least it's on the device!  Thanks again.

edit the genre to podcast.  it's generally not required, but occasionally it is.
