Bad Headphone jack?
I just bought my 32GB Zune HD and the first time I plugged the headphones in I got no sound.  I then pulled it the connector out slightly and hit replay and got sound.  If the connector goes in too far the sound goes out again.  Anyone else have this problem?  I am guessing I have a loose headphone jack.  This happens with all headphones I plug in to my Zune HD.  If I move the jack around it gets static and then goes out.

Yea, sounds like a loose headphone jack. I'd probably talk to zune or the place you bought it from asap to get a new device.

I'm having the exact same problem.  I returned the Zune to amazon.com and got a replacement, and it is doing the same thing.  I thought I just got unlucky and got a damaged unit, but after two, I give up.  I tried to give Microsoft and the Zune a chance, but I'm done.  I'll just go buy an ipod touch.  At least I'll be able to hear my music using it.

re: Bad Headphone jack?
we are two for two wth bad headphone jack same thing when you put the headphones all the way in the jack it stops working. We just spent an hour on the phone with customer support who informed us no refund if you bought it directly from zunestore.net, we can send it in to be fixed 3 to 6 weeks. This is BS i can go to wal-mart and get a $19 mp3 player and i guarantee you the headphone jack would work, Good job microsoft.

Having almost the same problem, the left one works but not the right one.  Tried three different headphones and all three have the same issue.

You know I thought I had the same problem until I figured it out that you need to push the headphone plug all the way in until you have no gap. I know it went against all my morals of not forcing stuff into things but the music actually sounds crisper now. You just gotta push it in all the way until you cannot even see the golden part of the plug of your headphones. Hope it helps cause I had the exact issue.
