Ever since I upgraded to the Zune 4.0 software it no longer shows me the little hearts next to the songs I have next to the the songs I have lsited as being "liked"...
I used the hearts to properly manage the content on my Zune. I sometimes like to go through my Zune and weed out some songs if I am getting to capacity and I used to make sure anything that I took off wasn't "liked" before I removed it... No I cannot do that and I have many autoplaylists that are based on likes and they get synced right back to me Zune the next time I sync those playlists.
I could go and set up all of my likes in the Collection manu and then sync only those. But when I try and delete songs from my Zune I have to constatnly go back and forth between the COLLECTION and DEVICE menus. And that is annoying. Before it was simple. Uncheck the heart and delete.
I thought I was going to be able to get around this annoyance, but I had created a perfect system to be able to handle my content on my Zune and then Zune 4.0 completely screwed this up for me...
I do not see any real benefits to the new 4.0 software for me. The Quickplay option is not worth me not being able to see what songs I like versus not like in the Device Menu.
Is there a reason this feature was removed? It still has an ability to sort by rating. So I can figure out what songs are liked and what songs are not liked (meaning no hear rating). But I still can't change the rating of the song. I used to be able to do that in the Device Menu of the software.
Is this maybe just a glitch in my install? I have not heard of anyone making a similar complaint anywhere on the internet on this issue.
Unless I can find a proper replacement for using the ratings system as a proper way to manage the fact that my collection has over 300 GB of content and my Zune is 80GB I will have to downgrade back to the old version. And I just know that is not going to go well. I'm sure Microsoft makes it just as difficult to downgrade Zune software as they do to downgrade operating systems.
