It might be asking for too much, but...

Being a Zune Pass subsciber, it is great that I get to keep 10 songs a month. But it would be great to see them implement the same for TV shows and movies in the form of freebies (either to keep or rentals). I get a lot of use out of my devices (30GB Halo 3 Edition, 120GB Red and the 32GB Zune HD). I own three because they belong to my wife, daughter and me. Having the opportunity to download video programs for free would be a great incentive to really showcase the video lineup. Just a thought and one that I feel many would like to see. Heck, I would even be willing to pay a premium price for such an option (obviously if I would be paying more I would expect more, like what the Zune Pass does for music) to really get the most out of the Zunes that we own. What do you guys think?

I doubt they would just include it in the $14.95 package but possibly setup a premium account that you pay more for. It's a really interesting idea that I would be interested in if Microsoft went that route. As it is now t.v. shows and movies are just too expensive for a digital copy when you could just go out to the store and pick up a season for cheaper and rip them to the device :\

I wish they would support Digital Copy, as it is I have a few on my computer but no way of watching them on my Zune.

I've wanted this for a while, but I don't think it will be coming soon. Reason being, is in one of the latest Zune Insider podcasts, @Jetherealz filled us in on how the Zune Pass works exactly. It works like a radio station when paying royalties to the artists. Every time a radio station plays a song, they owe so much to the artist. So every time someone downloads a song, Zune owes so much to the artist. Not the full price of the song, because they're not actually selling it, but some royalty must be paid. Seeing how television doesn't work at all like this, I don't see this happening. It could I guess, but I don't think the television companies would be willing to do something like this.

If that is the case then it should be much easier. Some of the shows available are on broadcast television for free on the major networks. The only catch then that I could see is that there would be advertising, and they are already doing that with apps so not too big a a leap then. So at least those shows that are offered on the major networks like 30 Rock should not be to hard to do this type of thing.
