Zune pass songs on network attached storage won't play on my xbox
I have recently moved my library of zune pass songs to a network attached storage device (WDH1NC10000).  When I go to play the songs through the xbox interface, I get the error code that I cannot play protected content - something to the effect of "11-04-CD00DB028"  The Xbox doesn't even hesitate when I go to play the song either, i just get the "circle with the line through it".

I used the zune software to erase all zune pass content, and re-downloaded all of the songs, thinking I might have screwed up the DRM when I moved the songs to the network drive.  This did not work either, I still get the error.

The network drive is called "PVConnect" when I go to the Music Library on the Xbox.  The network drive is using Twonky Media software.  The songs play on other computers, so it doesn't seem like a DRM issue but who knows.

Can anyone help?

re: Zune pass songs on network attached storage won't play on my xbox

The UPnP AV streaming server software needs to support WM-DRM, which I doubt your NAS box does.  PVConnect (Twonky) definitely doesn't.  Heck, even Windows Home Server doesn't officially spport content authentication like this.  Also, whatever is serving it also needs to have the Zune software installed, since that's the only method to login/authenticate the content to the Zune ecosystem at this time.

So, the best you can do is to mount the network content on a running Windows system... and use that to "re-serve" the content.  (Windows Media Player or Zune's network sharing service.)
