Podcasts keep downloading after unsubscribing

I unsubscribed from a podcast just after upgrading to 4.  Every time I sync the old podcast wants to load all of the sessions.  I have 176 podcasts in queu.  What do I do to get this to stop?  If I cancel they just try to load the next time.

re: Podcasts keep downloading after unsubscribing

You are not alone.

My Zune 4.0 keeps insisting that I download every episode of every podcast that I ever subscribed to - even if I cancel and unsubscribe - this could end up in the terabytes as most of what I listen to and watch are podcasts (that's why I'm "IDontLikeMusic" :-) ) and there is no way to cancel it - I've tried!!! Several times!

This has made up my mind - next device will be an iPod - I never thought I would say it - but iTunes rocks - Zune Desktop sucks wood. It's really sad because (in my opinion) the Zune is a superior product to the iPod.

Same issue for me as well.  It's very annoying to have 5 gigs of one podcast on my hard drive.

re: Podcasts keep downloading after unsubscribing
I too had this problem but I think I may have a solution. All I needed to do was delete the offending podcast's folder from Windows explorer (where the Zune software keeps the podcast files). This presented a problem since the folder was stuck on read-only and couldn't be deleted. I had to start Windows in Safe Mode by pressing F8 at start up. I then found the folder and deleted it, and it has stayed deleted since. You might have to access the properties of the folder in safe mode and give yourself the correct permissions from the securities tab. I'm running XP so Vista or Win7 might not have the same Safe Mode option that I did, but I hope this works for everyone else. Good luck!

It's Saturday night. I have no date, a 2 liter bottle of Shasta, and my all Rush Mix Tape... Let's rock!
