I'm getting the following error when attempting to install Zune 4.0:

  "Can't find the media for installation package 'Zune'.  It might be incomplete or corrupt".

Can anyone help?
Can I download the Zune 4.0 directly?
Is there a log file I can check for more details on this error?

Here are the details:

Windows 7 x64
Start Zune 3.1
Click on Settings > Software > General > Software Updates > Check for Updates
See "An update is available for the Zune software...", click "Update"
See "Getting Zune Software..."
See "Installing Zune Software Updates..."
Click L:icense Terms > Accept
Click Install
See "Preparing your computer" - check ok
See "Installing the Zune software...96%" - takes a few minutes, rolls back to 95% then the following error is displayed: "Can't find the media for installation package 'Zune'.  It might be incomplete or corrupt".
This was a different message than the first time I got the error, which was something like "Could not install package 'Zune'".

I tried runnign the Zune 3.1 software as an administrator and as a regular user - got the error both times.
I tried rebooting.
I have UAC turned off.

If you go to the Microsoft install site, you should eventually be able to directly access the 4.0 software.
You may have to click the download link and then go back a few times before it stops directing you to the 3.1 software, that's what happened with me.

I'm having the exact same issue though, even with the 4.0 setup. I'm also using Windows 7, x64.
Hopefully someone will be able to figure it out soon.

The error code I'm getting is 0x80070002, by the way

If you have a 3rd party firewall installed, try disabling it and enabling Windows Firewall.  Zune historically had problems with any firewall other than Windows Firewall.

i have the same problem

I downloaded the file name ZunePacake40.exe from Microsoft Download site.

Try these steps - worked for me: http://forums.zune.net/513644/ShowPost.aspx

Update: here's what worked for me - rebooted then logged in at www.zune.net and accepted the new terms of service.  Then manually downloaded the 4.0 x64 installer from:

  http://www.zune.net/en-us/products/software/download/default.htm

Turned off firewall, anti-virus and anti-spyware temporarily.
Ran the downloaded zunesetuppkg-x64.exe as an administrator - worked great!

Turned the firewall, anti-virus and anti-spyware back on and ran Zune 4.0 - works and it's awesome.
