zune wont turn on after failed 3.2 update...
i tried to update my black zune 8gb to the new 3.2 firmware, it was taking forever (30min) so i closed the zune software and now my zune wont turn on, tried to do hard reset, just a blank screen.

Damn, tough break. I had it set in my mind that I wasn't gonna have my 80GB bricked by this new firmware until at least a couple of days after it has been out. I didn't update my Zune, I only let it sync with the new PC software. Best of luck to you.

My 30gb has been stuck at 3of4 in the update for about 2.5 hours. I guess they did not do enough  testing before the release or they just want you to buy a HD.

My 80gb has been stuck at Step 3 of 4 for over an hour now.  I really hope this turns out for the best.  *sigh*

My 8gb Zune is just like the rest. The update failed.... just sat for over 30 minutes. Now it will not power back up. I guess it is done? Is there anything I can do to get it running again or get it replaced?

Add another case of this to the board.  I'm stuck with a black screen now even after a hard reset.  Arg.

I am having the same problem as the rest of you.  I have an original 30gb and it's been sitting for a 1/2 hour on step 3/4 and my Zune is non-responsive.

When I click the check for updates button it says my Zune 30 is up to date with the 3.1 firmware. I wonder if they have pulled the 3.2 because of problems?

Same problem  with my flash.  Been hanging all afternoon.  I won't touch it since I don't think it'll make a good paperweight.

looks like its bricked for good... talked to support and now i have to ship it in, it really sucks, but at least the repair is free...

If your still in Update process (3/4)  I went to support and it tells you to "hold back button" and "up on zune pad"... I almost closed my zune software,  almost gave up entirely (because support by phone was closed) but after I held "back button" and "pressed up on zune pad" zune restarted AND BANG!!!  MY ZUNE IS ALIVE & KICKIN'  http://www.zune.net/en-us/support/contactsupport.htm 1. register device 2. follow the steps

could have turned my zune into paper weight, because when you try to close process it says zune could become  "unuseable"

DONT STOP THE UPDATE UNTILL YOU'VE TRIED THIS

Mine hung at that point, too, on my Zune 80.  After four hours, I had to turn the computer off.  The Zune seems to be working OK, but I'm waiting for something nasty to happen now.

Microsoft, you gotta do a better job rolling out these products and updates.  Each revision has been a PR fiasco.  In China, someone in your organization would have been executed for causing such embarrassment.
