re: Podcast Still not showing up on the Marketplace, Could really use some help?

Still not seein my podcast on the marketplace, i went through the forums and did everything that's been mentioned and it's still not going up, http://feeds.feedburner.com/Lastgamerstandingcom is the link for the feedburner, someone help! I paste that into the submit podcast area and bada-bing bada-boom.. nothings happened yet, Tom? can i get a little help bud?

Unfortuneatley this is normal for Zune MarketPlace.  I waited over a year for a podcast submission to be added and once added its not all over.  Right now our pocast Amateur Radio QSO Show has been about a month with graphic that has just disappeared from Zune.  It is correctly placed in the RSS feed and it shows fine on ITunes.  As a matter of fact we never have trouble with ITunes or any other service that lists podcasts, just Zune Marketplace.  You can put blunt posts here on this forum and it still will not help.  Microsoft clearly does not care about the Zune product. The funny thing about all that is that most of the major media has podcasts these days and Zune Marketplace has earned not just a bad reputation in this arena but also passionate distaste from the media. I am talking major network names and shows who you will now find on Itunes but wish to not be on Zune Marketplace due to reliability problems.  I hate to be the bearer of bad news but look at our podcast Amateur Radio QSO Show and see there is no graphic.  You can type in the RSS   http://www.tedrandall.com/zune/qsorss.xml  and you will find the graphic is there and the correct show description as well..  Marketplace has a description for the show but they must have written it themselves as what they have is not in my rss and never has been.  Welcome to the world of Zune Marketplace.  Can you imagine being responsible for a major television network and seeing your podcast description incorrect and the wrong or no graphic? I guess you can get the picture.  I had plans to purchase Zune HD's for family members this Christmas but I most certainly will not after the treatment me and my media friends have recived here on Zune Marketplace. You must look at it with some perspective however.  There are 150 million IPods out there on the streets and about 2 million Zune players. So if you have no troubles on Itunes it is hardly worth the trouble here on Marketplaee.  The only reason I do this is because I am a talk show host and I am gathering subject material for the talk show.  I am doccumenting all of this so that later down the road when Microsoft crys wolf to its' stock holders I will be able to present a counter perspective. Word among stock holders travels like wildfire.  These are folks who have invested money while the folks managing the buisness are on an extended vacation.  Or at least that is seems here in these forums!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

All I can say is that all three feeds worked fine with the Zune software on my laptop (though I didn't really finish downloading any episodes).

Hey uh.. wordband man.. uh.. thanks for the post and everything, but none of that really helped me at all... uh.. i get that you're probably pretty pissed off and such.. but.. you need to relaxe a little lol, i mean.. i'm running into the same issues, but you dont see me throwing a tanner tantrum right? It's great and all that you're so passionate about this thing, but still.. Just relaxe a little man, dont wanna end up having a heart attack lol

264movies.. that's great and all, but i dont get what that means? Do my listeners have to plug in the feedburner account in order to download the episodes or what? I thought that when you gave zune you're feedburn thingy, they made an account on the marketplace for ya? I dunno.. zune confuses me lol, itunes is alot easier with dealing with this stuff.. i hate to say it but they are lol.. But i love my zune!!

It only means that:
1) Your feeds don't have any problems.
2) Your listeners could copy & paste the url and subscribe to your podcast with the Zune software even though it's not on the ZMP.

My guess is only one or two members of the Zune team are in charge of podcasts, and they are not working on it full time.

I am throwing a Tanner Tantrum because this has been going on for over a year and Zune still cant get  it right. Wait till you have been at this that long and see how much tolerance is left in your system?  We have a large radio audicance on our radio network that encompasses the entire US. You should answer my email and see what hundreds are saying about Zune Marketplace. I like my Zune as well but I have hundreds of listeners that purchased Zunes on my advice.. now they are stuck in that Zune Marketplace has screwed up so many major podcasts that the customer is forced to go to ITunes to get thier podcasts. I am working with my buddy Ronnie Milsap and his new podcast. I am going to do his RSS.  If Marketplace does not get this mess fixed and I mean it is way overdue. I am not even going to post Ronnies podcast on Zune rather than put him through the mess of everything being screwed up all the time.

I dont understand xD lol were do they copy and past the url into?  Other than that, thank you so much 264 :) You've been very helpful, and wordband man, seriously dude.. I get the fact that you're pissed, i can see why too, if i were in you're situation i'd be flippin creating atomic energy or somethin haha, but getting angry at them when you've seen they're not listening isnt helping, it's just creating a bad image for you're radio brodcast to other newer subscribers that you might get over the xbox live forums.

Anyways, thanks for the imput you two, and 264 if you could let me know where my listeners have to post that url i'd appritiate it so much! Get that word out on sunday to my listeners so they can start downloading straight to their zune.

Ahhh! holy crap! Jowlstar man, you are! The BOMB! Thank you for whatever you did lol, cause i searched through those podcasts for hours looking for my cast and couldnt find it, he must have just added the thing today. I the graphic is up and the description is correct!  I had not changed it but for some reason the description was really old one that was up about a year ago. How it was being displayed is beyond me as it appears nowhere in the feed.
I am the only one doing uploads to the server so I just don't understand.
I did reduce the size of the graphic thinking that the 600X600 graphic may be a problem.
It was fine weeks ago with the 600X600 graphic but I took it down to 300X300 just to see.
I getting ready to try to redo the Radio Disclosure web site and there we can't get rid of the old graphic that is about a year old.
Try as I may I can't get it to display the new graphic.
It does fine if I load the podcast into the Zune software but Marketplace just wont pick it up.
If you could look at that Lord I would be into some heavy debt to you!
I have a podcast to launch for Ronnie Milsap and it should be a real hot podcast.
Ronnie produces it himself and I think it will be a milestone as I know of no other country music artists producing their own podcast.
I am just getting the RSS together for it.

One thing that has happened is I have about 100+ messages from listeners who are telling me the podcast is up correctly in Marketplace.
I suffer from having pressed the Zune product pretty hard on the air.
Never was an Ipod fan.
We have about 7 of the Zune players in the house and I use them at the studio as well.
With all my pro Zune ranting on the air it is really bad when Marketplace does something like drops a graphic.
If I dont get it fixed I get call after call.
I don't know what your position is there but if you could shoot me an email so I can pass you along as a contact to some major media folks who have had Marketplace  problems.
Folks at Fox and ABC.  You could really make some friends there.
