Syncing takes FOREVER!!

I had to erase all of my files on my 30gb zune, (long story) and now im trying to sync my music (about 11gb of music) it takes very long. i had it cabled to my laptop for about 3 hrs and it was still at 1%..my last option is to uninstall and reinstall the zune software. anybody have any other solutions before i do this??

Is it stopping at any particular file? (Check bottem of just added, top of syncing) if you just find it in collection > music and rightclick it and choose not to sync it.
Also ensure that there isnt a video or something you're trying to sync thats not compatible.

Device > Status and there should be two links, "Just Added" and "Now Syncing", check the bottem of "Just Added" and the top of "Now Syncing", I would probably choose not to sync one or the other.

If you don't see any links listed there, there might be something wrong with the device and you might have to goto Settings > Device and click the button to remove all data, and then try syncing.

ive tried everything...i still cant get anything on my zune, i even tried to sync one song, and it still does not sync...i need help before i break this thing!

I dunno about you man, I just know that syncing on my Zune 80 with USB 2.0 is extremely slow as well. It's kind of weird. Maybe they'll address it in the upcoming patch....whenever that is.

I just got the 80gb and I am a former 30gb owner.  The 80gb is taking forever to sync, and so far it has only sync'd 16 gb of data and that has taken a couple of days.  I have left this thing plugged in overnight two nights in a row and still not filled up????

Any suggestions... I am really trying to avoid calling tech support on this!!

Stop Sync. Unplug device and reboot.

My Zune has slowed to a trickle when syncing and a reboot has fixed this problem.

I was able to put 70 gigs on my Zune 80 and it took a little under 2 hours.  ...So those times you are getting are definately unusual.

I also have a new 80G. The syncing seems to get caught up in the software somehow, and the zune screen locks when syncing. I will leave it alone and come back later and more often than not, it will still be locked up however the media has synced. Additionally, it also locks up when trying to remove the media from the device or move it back to the computer. It also takes forever to read the media on the device. Its very frustrating.

 Is this a problem with the USB2? would a firewire connection help out?

Are any of you guys still experiencing slow sync times after updating to version 2.3 of the software (download link)? The reason I ask is because I linked to this thread from the Sync Issues (link) thread and am trying to update the links to see what issues are still outstanding. Thanks for the replies.
