It won't let me use the same Live ID for Xbox and Zune!

I've had my XBOX Live ID for several years now. I got my Zune about a month ago, and registered it with a different e-mail address (as I didn't know that you could have the same Windows Live ID for both).

Now, I try to change my Xbox ID to the same one that I use for my Zune, and the bugger won't let me. It gives me an error like "The Windows Live ID you entered is already associated with another account." What the crap, Microsoft? It says right there on my Xbox that I can use a Live ID that is associated with a Zune, e-mail, etc.

There are MS points on my Xbox account, none on my Zune (because the software won't let me enter my Canadian credit card billing address, another issue altogether).

Jeez. Who'd have thought that BUYING music would be so difficult.

It does allow you to use the same Live ID on both the xbox 360 and Zune, but they must be the SAME gamertag/Zunetag.
It sounds to me like you have two email address with two different tags, and thats where the problem arose. A Gamertag=Zunetag and vice versa.
Your trying to link two Zune/Gamertags to one email, which you cant do.

The Zune marketplace isn'[t available in Canada and it more than likely will never be. As the person stated above, your zunetag and gamertag must be the same. If your current zunetag is linked to a different e-mail address, you're going to basically have to abandon it and sync your Zune using the same account you use for XBOX Live. The Zune marketplace will not accept your Canadian Microsoft points either unfortunately.
