zune says it's full, nothing is on device and I keep running into issues
so recently, 'bout 5 days ago, my zune started futzing up. it would freeze a little, and I would connect it to the computer for a few minutes, let it alone come back and it would work. it did this about 5 times, so I tried to update the firmware I hadn't updated in 2 months. thats when it got really bad. suddenly the screen went black and the zune refused to work. I tried reseting it and whatever else I could think of. so I let it alone and let the battery die. I then plugged it into the computer and reset it, went right back to the black screen. I then followed a guide to restoring what was on my device. didn't work. so I delete everything off the device using another guide on this site. then I was finally able to reinstall the firmware but not sync my music. I checked my device and it said its 29.81gb was full. I tried to delete everything off the device several times and it still says it's full.
now it's recognized by the software, but after a few minutes it says it can't connect to the device or it can't use, find, erase content, sync or read the device.
just short of taking it apart and sending it in I have tried almost everything I could think of. what can I do? I've used all the guides on this site. should I just take it apart and fix it, or send it to my friend to fix it? or just sell it for parts and get a new zune.
I think the hard drive is either corrupted or loose, how can I tell without taking the device apart first?
zune is gen 1 30gb
