Item Expired Please Sync, but I have twice...
Last night I got home from work downloaded a few new songs and then plugged in my Zune to sync it up before I went out shopping.  Got into the car and it gave some error about the title missing.  Then when I got home I downloaded one or two more songs and re-synced.  I was able to play all of the songs on my PC but didn't try any of the songs on my Zune.  Got in the car again this morning and now every track except for my MP3 tracks are saying: "Usage rights for this item have expired. Please Sync with your PC."  Got to work this morning was outside havign a smoke and a co-worker said he is having the exact same issue.  I was thinking about going home and deleting all of the music off of my Zune and doing a full re-sync but that is over 50GB since I have Zune Pass and the 120GB Zune.  Sitting here with the Zune on shuffle all its only playing purchased media which at least lets me know the MP3s I bought are ok.  Also it told me last night my credentials were outdated and made me sign in again on the PC software.  After I signed back in I downloaded a few more tracks and thought nothing of it.

As I am going though listening to what I can I got to a song I wanted to skip and now for some songs it says: "The item is missing or cannot be played." Looks more and more like I might be re-syncing my whole collection.

Still no luck I even tried to update and sync the channels online from a hotspot, it synced and then still gives the same errors.  Does anyone have anything I can try to avoid having to clear all of the content on this thing?

Same issue here (I think I posted in the wrong forum originally), been going on about the same amount of time.  I did delete several songs, redownload and re-added, re-synced - no change so don't bother with that one.  The songs play in the software, my Zune is a continual stream of "Usage rights have expired".  I've synced multiple times in the last two days, rebooted, returned the PC to restore point, etc.  I'm guessing (like the "Oops, it's a Leap Year?" issue) this is a general problem that will start hitting more people as their Pass songs need the rights refreshed (or some update gets applied) and we're just the lucky early ones.  Not a happy thing before a holiday weekend where I was planning to use my Zune in the car - my son is waving his iPod happily at me.  *sigh*

I had the same issue last week and erased all content, and re-sync'd, and things worked again. It's starting up again.

If I right click on most of my Zune Pass music, I see:

DRM: Yes - license expires 8/4/2009 (no sync rights, no burn rights)

WTF good is it if my license is active but I can't sync it? These stupid DRM tricks have got to be fixed.  All I ever see are kludgy work-arounds and no updates.

I hadn't even thought to check the song properties - yes, that's what I'm seeing as well.  License date in August, no sync rights.  Bleah.  A couple of thousand songs and play all is an exercise in watching it skip songs...  Guess I'll wait and watch - my husband won't sync his Zune until mine is working, my son has gone back to his iPod and my commutes suck at the moment. :(

My Zune did this to me yesterday. I synced it and went to my car and it gave me the "Usage Rights..." line. Like you said, the songs on my PC are working, but now it won't even recognize my Zune when I connect it to the USB port. It's charging, but that's it Confused [*-)] I've restarted my computer, reset my Zune and tried using the USB port on the back of my PC. Still no luck.....
