'Never Played' Playlist
I created a 'Never Played' playlist using the autoplaylist with the only options listed as 'never played' and 'no limit' on track to add the list to try and keep track off all the new stuff I add.  Unfortunately, it is adding music I've rated and listened to alot.  I've listened to the songs within the playlist to see if it would remove them, and it's not.  Any thoughts?

Go to the song view in your collection, and add the play count column if you haven't already (right click any column header and select 'choose columns')
Do the playcounts look right?  Or is everything stuck at zero?

re: 'Never Played' Playlist
Thanks for that little tip.  There are some songs that show zero plays that I've listened to numerous times.  All of them are songs that I ripped from CD's.  I'll play them one at a time with the play counter up and see what happens.

I think you have some file corruption in the file that stores this data...I'd run the media collection reset tool.  FYI..this will reset all local playcounts to zero, but I think it will very likely fix your problem.  (Search that term in the search bx above...)

Thanks, I'll give it a try.  I have found that songs with under 3 plays show up in the 'Never Played' autoplaylist.

very strange....setting up that playlist is so simple that I cannot imagine how you could make a mistake doing it...so, yeah...give the tool a try.

re: 'Never Played' Playlist

Used the tool and I have about 3300 songs in my 'Never Played' playlist to go, but so far no songs with plays showing up in there.  Thanks Again.

re: 'Never Played' Playlist

I've also found that Zune keeps track of plays for each user.  If I log in with my Zune Pass account, I see plays for it, and I see a different number of plays under my personal account (used to keep a list separate from the wife).  When I download music with the Zune pass, I have to log in later with my personal account and re-sync or I'll have playlists and plays from the Zune Pass account.

You may not use Zune Pass, but Zune really needs to allow the Zune Pass to be tied to more than one account (up to three computers and Zunes are allowed).

re: 'Never Played' Playlist

I'm not fully through with listening and rating the 5000 songs in my personal collection, but I'm starting to see played items in my 'Never Played' playlist.  Item in the playlist have upto 5 plays.  No way am I going to use the reset tool and have to listen to and rate my favorites again.  I was hoping to use that playlist to manage zune pass music that I add.
