This is REALLY starting to tick me off!!!!!
I plug up my Zune this morning only to see it syincing and REMOVING OVER 1000 SONGS!!!! ALL of these tracks are now no longer available on Marketplace!! WTF!!!! I have a ZunePass, and, up until now, I have loved it. I REALLY want to know WHY THE HELL 1/6 of the music is now unavavailable!!!! I may just be cancelling my ZunePass.

It could be two things that I can think of...
1) If they really are gone, that's a decision of the copyright holder (record label) on how to license those songs...i.e., purchase only, or to allow subscriptions.
2) It's possible there was a minor file change made that the zune market detects as a 'different' song...check the marketplace to see if there is now a slightly different version that replaced your version.

Lol, good point. This happened this morning? So far thats the only thing I had a problem with. What kind of stuff got removed?

For sure!!
If you open the zune software and click settings->account->subscription history  is there enough data there to help you get these back, if they really are still available?

Zune Pass. I have no clue. Maybe it got reuploaded or changed or something. The one I had wasn't showing as "In Collection" on there page and wouldn't sync to my Zune but would play on my computer. I just redownloaded it and it's fine now.

OK... so I think that is an example of my case #2...where there is some slight file change or update that the marketplace thinks is a new version of the track (and it kills the old version...)

Typically rights issue will come in 3 forms:

·        Content was revoked & is not in the Marketplace anymore.

·        Content was revoked & replaced with different version of the asset.

·        ZunePass subscription rights have been removed (content is album-only).

 

Anything else is a bug and should be reported, but 90% of the time it falls into one of those categories.
