WOW, No Zune HD in Canada????!!!!!

Amazing, yet another effortless thing happening within the zune Company, as most of you know the zune HD is set for release in FALL (september 5) but heres the catch....its only....IN THE U.S. when i first read this i started madly searching the web for canadian release, NOTHIN, this is real stupid, but i was just wondering if any of you guys knew wshen....

I think it's directly related to inabality to deliver any type of marketplace to us. We can thank the CRTC for that! It just won't sell very well here without a marketplace, just like the regular Zune hasn't done well without the ZunePass being available to us. Screw the CRTC.

I believe in the initial announcement last week they said:  US, Canada, UK, France, and some others

its really only stating that the zune will take over the "XBOX VIDEO MARKETPLACE" in those countries, no really the zune HD unfortunately...

The rumor I heard is BC only...

when i think about it, i think it may have something to do with the features of zune HD, i mean, i heard that HD radio is only available in UNITED STATES (still want it) and then their is the marketplace that aint available which may provide the zune HD with apps, and other stuff. i really think microsoft is slacking off here to get it worldwide, wich is why they fail, (dont get me wrong i love my zunes)

From what I have seen...and it's tough to separate rumor from fact...the marketplace will go international later this fall, in connection with xBox.  I can't tell though, if that includes the zune HD.

Um... of course the Zune HD's gonna be in Canada. Where are you guys hearing that it's not? There's no source saying it won't be.

However, the Zune Marketplace, which is what I think you guys are getting mixed up with, hasn't really been talked about much about a release for Canada but I've read one or two articles saying that it is. It's also going to be in UK and other regions, so you can bet teh Zune HD will be released there as well and if it's being released outside the US it will be released in Canada. If you guys are talking about the Zune Marketplace for Xbox 360 after the Microsoft conference, they didn't really talk much about it so you can't start assuming things off the bat after very small information, that's not fair. We need more info and we have no clue if that feature will hit Canada however the current video store IS in Canada and they're saying that the Zune store will replace it. So either the video store for Xbox Live will disappear in Canada altogether, which makes no sense to me, or the store will be replaced with the Zune Video store and if that's the case, would only lead into a Marketplace release for Canada as well. Why would a video store for the Zune be available for Xbox 360 and not the PC software as well, at the very least for movies?

This reminds me when there was very little info about the Wii controller and one developer said that the controller is "pressure sensitive" and the whole internet went crazy and said it was going to have a touch screen on it. The reality was (which I thought I was the only smart person in the world for a few weeks after that lol) was that he was refering to pressure sensitive buttons, which all game controllers have now. So wait until we have more info before declaring something as "confirmed", and try not to mix words around or mistake something for something else. It causes confusion.

hmm that makes me feel better about this, i guess i was just so pumped up for the release of the ZHD that when i heard "Will be releaseing this fall in U.S." i just went crazy, cuz of course i was looking forward to a touch screen zune For A LONG time.

So, here's something to think about which can give you all a good clue about the Zune HD in Canada (or any other non-US country.) 
1) Does HD radio exist in Canada, and in a compatible mode to the US standard?
2) Does Canada support HD TV in 720p, also compatible with the US standard?
If the answers are yes, I would find it very hard to believe it wouldn't be available in Canada.
If the answers are no, then it's not so clear...but it's not a definite no.  It would then depend (I think) on whether the Canadian standards are supportable via firmware...
