GREAT IDEA FOR NEXT SOFTWARE UPGRADE

My story: I synced my zune to my computer, as i do every day, to charge it and update my playlists. When i returned i found that for some reason my entire collection of 3500+ songs were gone. They were also missing from my zune. even the games from my zune were deleted. !!! it took me two and a half years to get my songs like i wanted them. I AM SO FURIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MY TIP to ZUNE and Microsoft:  I am a huge supporter and have talked most of my friends into signing up for zune passes and purchasing your product. My main problem and the suggestions i have made several times to you were "what if situations" just like happened to me. I pay for my zune pass and my sister uses it on her computer at her residence. I download my stuff, she downloads hers.  With all of the cool features why the HECK can't you make a tiny option that separates which device or computer each song is downloaded to?????? i only ask because of the 7000+ songs downloaded between my sister and i, i now have to download all of the CRAP she listens to in order to get my songs back.... that is not worth it.  You offer wireless song transfer and great software that can separate music and keep track and can keep track of everysong i listen to and know where my zune is and how often i listen to each song but the option of picking which computer downloaded what music isn't in the software!!!!?????  now i get to spend the next 6 months hoping to remember what songs i had.

really hoping and praying you get this fixed so other zune ppl don't have to do what i am,

Sounds like an intelligent idea to me!

I don't have to worry about this, but I could see that as a big pain in the a$$!

Because that would essentially be two different zune pass accounts. For $15 you get an account that you can sync to 3 zunes...

Our Computer has seperate user accounts so  that the music between me and my dad don't get combined and we both can freely sync our zunes without having to worry about that.  That is until i got my own computer that is.

re: GREAT IDEA FOR NEXT SOFTWARE UPGRADE
I like your idea, however I also think Microsoft needs to make 2 other vital additions.

1- Allow for documents and folders to be added to the Zune.  This would allow for file transfer and allow people to essentially use there Zune as a portable hard drive.  This would be great for students who could use there Zune to carry Word documents or other documents for classes.

2- Some sort of file backup system.  Windows has its own built in backup software, why don't we have the option to back up our playlists as well as our files to our computers?  It seems only locical.  This way, if something happens (like your Zune deleting all of the files) you can quickly and easily restore it to the last time it was plugged in!

Some more games would be nice too, like they give you a few, but more would be appreciated.

It would be nice if they also set up a forum for programmers who would be willing to do "freeware" for the zune. Like optional free software and applications and such.

It does have a built in back up system for that situation. It's your hard drive.

If the zune deletes all of the files off of itself, you can easily format it, unlink it, relink it, and plug it in and sync it

Mine's larger.

Here's an idea...how about the Zune software working on Vista 64. After all, they are both Microsoft products!

As far as my experience goes, the Zune software works perfectly well with Vista 64...
