Zune TV-OUT????
ok so iv have the special  AV cables, on one end is a headphone jack, and the other is the AV jacks(red,white,yellow)....and i was watching like seven ppl on youtube use tv out on their zune. and supposably what you do is take the cables and insert into the headphone jack on the zune. and the other end is the yellow, red, and white prongs into the tv, and iv tried many combinations of hooking them up to the tv and i got to settings on the zune and display and tv-out. and all i get is static. i cant seem to figure it out. i no my cables are fine because i tested them with my volt meter...any help???

Does your tv have to switch from regular tv viewing to some other input source like AV1 or AV2 or even AUX. If you still can't make the connection function just post the brand of your TV or maybe even some pics and I'll be more than happy to help you figure this thing out.

If you are using a generic AV cable, connect the red plug to TV's video (yellow) input.

Okay, so here's the scoop on the supposed issue on being able to connect your zune to your tv via the rca a/v cables.  It doesn't work and here's way.  Your headphone jack is for audio only no matter what is at the other end of the cable.  I tried every way imagainable like you to connect my zune to my tv without success.  I finally called a zune tech and he explain to me what I just stated above.  He told me to go buy a dock and use it that way.  I argued and told him of the whole youtube vids and everything.  He assured me it would work.  So I went to amazon.com, found a zune dock v.2 for the zune 120GB.  Bought it from Cargolargo for under $22 with shipping included.  It arrived 3 days later.  Took it out of the box, connected up MY a/v cables to my 51" tv, red to red, white to white, yellow to yellow.  Plug them in to the a/v access on the back of the dock, plugged in the dock, setted my zune and went to AV1 channel on my tv, went to settings>display>tv-out>ok and OMG I had zune on tv.  IT WORKED.  I love it.  Try that and good luck.  Kim

I play videos with the Zune RCA cables through the headphone jack all the time (on a 30GB and an 80GB)...don't know if the 120GB responds the same way (or the flash types)...

Just an FYI for the flash Zune owners:  Flash Zunes have no video output capability.
